Life is good…This week has gotten off to an exceptional start, so I feel I should go ahead and talk my shit again. It will be in my usual A.D.D., topic-to-topic style, so bear with me.
Let me begin by saying that I do appreciate all of those who have continued to come by here while my blog stalker continues to write more comments on my site by himself than anyone else has EVER written on his. I honestly did not know this site was that popular until dude came around. I may have to speed up www.listentoleon.com, or at the very least, stop being cheap and pay blogger so I can see my site statistics. Once again, thanks for sticking around. I finally have enough on this dude to have him taken care of FOR GOOD. Actually, I had enough about two days ago, but the first way I was going to ruin him might land me in prison LOL. I’m too handsome to go to jail, so I guess I’m going to have to use the legal alternative. Either way, I’ll be selectively deleting stuff that he wrote, and leaving up the comments that I feel will best serve my effort to piss in his corn flakes.

I’m glad to see Bow Wow is actually experiencing just as much success, if not more, as an adult. We have enough washed-up former kid stars out there. It’s cool that he was able to follow the Usher path and not the Chi-Ali one. Plus, he ain’t gotta act hard. He’s under 21 with a black card.
Speaking of music, I bought three CDs over the past 2 days, and they all made me smile. Quick synopsis
Nas – It Was Written Marked the transition from Nasty Nas to Nas Escobar. All the killer shit got a little redundant on that CD, but lyrically, Nas held it down. It showed off his ablility to master very original conceptual themes, such as “I Gave You Power”, as well as his crossover appeal with songs like “If I Ruled The World.” Overall, a good CD.
Trey Songz Good R&B album, considering it’s out at a time when most radio R&B is rather shitty. He’s got a lot of talent and style. I had to buy it when I realized the CD I burned online only had 11 tracks on it, but the actual album had 17. I’m glad I made the purchase. It was worth it. I stay playing “Gotta Go” on repeat.
The Roots – Home Grown! The Beginner’s Guide To Understanding The Roots, Vol 1 GREAT CD. I didn’t realize that The Roots were releasing a two-part Greatest Hits CD until I saw it in the store last night(Target, $9.99). I only bought part 1, but I will be picking up Volume 2 before the weekend is out. I have nothing but respect for them, thanks to their years of making groundbreaking music and their exceptional live performances. If The Roots ever come to your town(and they probably will since they tour so much), I recommend you buy a ticket and attend the show. Hell, just listening to the CD this morning has got me going. I can’t get “Silent Treatment” out of my head…That song has always been one of my all time favorites…

@ Shan, I love that Floetry song, but I haven’t heard the album yet. I will end up getting it sooner or later. I love that one lady’s voice. And you’re right about The Roots’ live shows. I’ve only been to one show that was better than any of The Roots performances I’ve been to, and suprisingly, that was KRS One (back when I was in college). He’s a master at getting the crowd into the performance.
P.S., if you ever see a party where ?uestlove is the guest DJ, by all means, GO TO THAT PARTY. The dude will spin SOME SHIT! He gets the party rocking like no other.

I was listening to hustleman radio last night – I couldn’t believe Dishwalla was on there, I haven’t heard that song in years. I liked a lot of the stuff you had on there but you completely lost me on Lindsay, I used up all 5 skips on that song alone!
