Your boy Leon is going to be on HBO pretty soon, but for the wrong reason. I went to the taping for D.L. Hughley’s comedy special, and guess where they sat a brother? If you said “The front row” then you’d be correct. Anyone who is familiar with D.L. Hughley knows that sitting on the front row for one of his shows make you an automatic target.
When he finally got through with his set(which was very funny), he came back, looked at me, and said “What’s up bruh?” I knew my moment of HBO infamy was at hand. He made some comment about me nodding off during his show, which wasn’t all that funny to me, but I didn’t have a microphone to say what I wanted to, which was ”B*tch you shouldn’t have taken an hour and a half to come onstage! Of course I’m tired, you lazy bastard!”
Since I knew I couldn’t really say sh*t to a trained comedian with a microphone in his hand from where I was, I turned and said something to the chick with me. That’s when he lit my ass up! D.L. Hughley responded by saying “Aww n*gga, don’t act like I’m gon’ stop talking about you cause you looked away!”
Then he proceeded to do an impression of me, saying “Maybe if I look over here, he’ll f*ck with someone else.” I can’t even lie, that was funny as HELL. I really hope HBO uses it, because if they do, I’m pirating the video and putting that clip on here. Hell, it’s free press for D.L., so they shouldn’t mind.

Hughley’s, and have been since the Def Comedy Jam days. you know me, though…I don’t take “L’s” without at least delivering a parting shot. To quote Mr. Hughley, “F*ck you if you can’t take a joke!”

I’d love for him to see it. If he has the type of sense of humor that I think he does, he’d appreciate it. Leon…I was at the show too, but I went to the 2nd show! He was funny as hell…he kinda said some similar things to other people (bout lookin away and noddin off)! U and DL going at it would be a mess…!!!
I’m not a fan of DL. Some of his stuff be funny, but overall he is lame. I hate it when comedians start fucking with people in the audience, that shit be so whack.

@ Snow White, I like him, but the ony complaint I have is the same thing Mercy said in her comment: that he sometimes tends to recycle his own jokes instead of coming up with new stuff. I think he’s funny though.

Please allow me to correct you. D.L. may be a trained comedian however, true comedians almost never make it big they are people like ourselves who make people laugh when we are just trying to keep it real in normal conversation. I used to get mad when folks would laugh when I was sincerely carrying on what was in my mind a normal conversation. I don’t anymore I just take it in stride. If you ever had the opportunity to grow up like myself listening to your parent’s Richard Pryor albums you would notice that he never had to do sh!t like that. He has always been for real, he kept the audience cracking up and what most people do not realize is at least 1/2 of the time he was just talking. But no one ever knew what would come out of his mouth. Our peers say the same thing about me and you.
These modern comedians such as D.L. need to recognize. Some of them are funny but I would only pay cash money to real comedians such as Redd Fox (God Rest His Soul), Richard Pryor if I was old enough when he was in good health, or Bill Cosby. Oopssies let me add my man who broke ground playing Geraldine! Hell I’ve had one Tequilla shot too many so I cannot think of his name right now.
Leon we have the ability to open peoples eyes about the humor in everyday life and we are not even trying. How come we can’t get paid???
