DC People,
I need y’all to recommend a good barbershop for me to go to. Preferrably in NW DC. I know some good ones in Silver Spring, but I want to pick a shop that does not require me to travel to another state. The one that I used to go to get my hair cut was already unreliable at times. Now that they’ve suddenly changed their hours, I have no choice but to move on.
I hate to fire my barber while the shop is closed…but since I have to go in to work tomorrow looking like Teen Wolf, I don’t really feel any sympathy at all. I doubt one customer will really affect business all that much anyway. Best of luck to you, old barbershop. I just need a more consistently open place, since I’m constantly on the go these days.
So if anybody can recommend a good barbershop in DC, please do in the comments section. Also, if you name shops, please tell me if there are any specific barbers I should ask for(or avoid). I do know enough to avoid the barber with an empty chair at an otherwise crowded barbershop. Empty Chair Smitty will do something crazy to your scalp, forcing you to walk out angry, looking like an idiot. Thanks in advance for your help.

Darrell’s barber shop 14th St. NW. Ask 4 Chad (u know him from The Share). I saw that young afro u were sporting Friday night. It was not cute. You thought cuz u got “good hair” u could get away with, didn’t u? Wrong!! Luv ya babe see u at the B’day party.
WOMAN YOU AIN’T HAVE NO PROBLEM RUNNING YOUR FINGERS THROUGH IT!
lol
But for real, I might have to check them out after work tomorrow. Thanks.
Leon! My barber is the greatest! He’s even doing a great job keeping my Florida Evans fro looking decent as i let it grow out. His name is Jeff and he’s at Walls Barbershop on 15th between H & I. call me for his number
@ Diva, I’ll call you around lunchtime! Thanks
Leon,
AfrosCut across from PG Plaza Mall is a good spot if you’re willing to drive a bit. Ask for E-Man, who cuts my hair and also owns the shop.
DC Barber School (it is a shop) on 14th and Quincy NW…ask for Nick or Mark…both are old school cats….but do excellent jobs….
If none of the above worked, try Eric (Erk!) only barber in Total Impressions (Hair Salon) on 800 block of Upshur (not the full up barbershop on the corner). He takes appointments and is good about keeping them. Been going there for six years.
good luck finding a place – it always sucks moving to a new area!
