Congratulations to Raheem Devaughn

Before I leave the office today, I want to say congratulations to Raheem Devaughn on his recent Grammy nomination. His song “Woman” is up for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. It’s great to see a local talent being recognized for music’s most prestigious award. Keep on doing what you do, Raheem. DC is behind you.

Also, please forgive the flicted and convoluted look of my site right now. I am doing some shuffling and re-adjusting of content here and there, so if things look lopsided or screwed-up, they should be back to some semblance of order by tomorrow morning. Just hang tight for now.

Thanks Leon for giving a shot out to Rah! I’ve been a huge fan of his for a minute now… His major label record ‘The Love Experience’ is sweet and so are his self-released mixtapes, which he’s putting out for years.

To all those who haven’t listened to Raheem: Stop sleepin on a brotha!

I have tried and tried to like this song, but I just….can’t. Everytime it comes on I change the station. I feel bad cause he’s a local artist and its a tribute to females, but ugh….I just don’t like it. Corny. Boo.

Miss Natalie I agree…I have never admitted aloud that I don’t like Woman because I am a big Raheem supporter. He has way better songs on his mixtapes. But like you said Woman ia a tad corny. Sorry Rah!

Congrats Raheem! But I do agree it is not his best song, The Love Experiences is one of my favorite CD’s but was slept on by mainstream media. I am happy to see he is getting acknowledged though. D.C. STAND UP!!!!

Congrats on the nomination, but I absolutely do not like this song, I’m sorry…I love the album the Love Experience tho, and I still listen to it, front to back. I’m a fan but I do not like this song either.

Im not too familiar with the song “Woman”, but I do LOVE his song “You.” WHOOOOOOO! YES! Raheem also puts on a good performance. I saw him for the first time, by accident, last January. For some reason, I thought it was just a Fertile Ground concert. But, by the time I got off work, I got to see FG do 2 songs, and then Raheem came on. I sat there for 45 minutes not knowing who this fool was, lol, til he finally did a song I recognized! He puts on a great show, and I hope he continues to blow up in the future.
