For the first time in a long time, I feel burned out. I’m at a point where I sort of feel like that donkey chasing after the carrot on the string in front of him…I can SEE the reward in front of me…I can just about SMELL that sumbish…I just can’t seem to reach it.
Now, I know I tend to act like a jackass sometimes, but I’ll be damned if I allow myself to actually feel like one! As a result, I am going to spend this three-day weekend re-organizing and re-strategizing things, so that I can continue to stay on track with my goals, without putting unecessary pressure on myself.
So this weekend should remain uneventful. My usual “What Would Rick James Do” party attitude is going on the shelf while I get things sorted out. Speaking of Rick, I found out last night that singing “Fire and Desire” at karaoke is much harder than it is in the shower. When you can hear yourself on a microphone, it can be catatrophic! Thank God this performance wasn’t caught on camera. It was just as bad as my Clarence Carter video and the Lionel Richie one. So now, I’m just going to let Rick and Teena sing it the right way.

Hope everything works out for you…. And as a karaoke diva, someone asked me to sing that song for them for a contest. We won that isht, but my advice to you when singing that song is to do like I did– close your eyes, clench your butt cheeks and PUSH to get those notes. I almost blew my damn butthole out trying to hit those notes, lol!

@ Tayeski, my moustache has almost grown back in now, so I’m not too worried about looking old right now. I just want to be comfortable, instead of having thoughts of things I should be doing when I’m trying to relax!

I agree…I sound much better singing Fire and Desire in the shower than in real life. Sometimes we all need to take a break, no shame in that!
Ever consider comedy writing? Like for TV shows and such (assuming the strike will one day end…)
