The Anticipation of Target Shopping

Earlier, someone told me that the new Target on 14th Street is now open. Upon hearing this news, I couldn’t even contain my joy. I smiled like a schoolgirl at a Hannah Montana show.

A Target that’s one Metro stop(or one very long walk) away?! What more can you ask for? I had visions of household products dancing through my head last night. Dreams of fabric softner…paper towels…wifebeaters(or as sensitive people call them, A-shirts)…All of these items are on my shopping list for this evening.

I know I’m not the only one. All of my fellow Target lovers, make yourself known! If you live anywhere near 14th Street, you’ll probably be able to catch me there at some point after work tonight.

I already went to Target on its grand opening. Gentrification and “big box” store arguments aside, I think everyone can benefit form having a all-purpose store in town, in addition to the others that will open. That’s one less place in MD or VA I have to venture to since I’m just one Metro stop away, myself.

I wish I was a metro ride away from something. But I’m in the sprawling suburbs of Atlanta, where everything is a car ride away. Our subway, MARTA is useless if you live outside 285. There are 2 Targets within 10 minutes of my apartment though.

I’ve never been a fan of Target. I always thought they were overpriced myself…

I havent made it up to the new store just yet, but the amount of redevelopment going on in that area right now is pretty amazing. It still catches me off guard at times. Best Buy is next.

Man, that Target is gonna be off the hook. Shelves will be empty, and prices will be higher. Plus they already have a spike in crime! I’ve scouted every target in a 100 mile radius of DC. The ones near metro are usually a mess and have higher prices. As a result, I will only go to the one in Columbia, Silver Spring, or Laurel.

I absolutely love Target! I live right across the street from one. I have to force myself not to look in it’s direction or I go into a trance and it sucks me in. I just wrote a post about it on Monday.

Ha ha! This post reminds me of that episode in Barbershop (the series) with the tiki torches.
