Aside from all the horrible singing and drum playing I did while playing Rock Band at my boy Taz’s place, the ListenToLeon.net quote of the weekend occurred on Friday evening. On my way home, I stopped by a lounge where I know the bartender. Next, I managed to get invited, then promptly un-invited to a nearby birthday celebration. After meeting the birthday girl at the bar and making some small-talk, she went back over to her party, and I went back to watching the Nuggets and Spurs game while sipping on my drink, which was called a ”beautiful”.
I saw the birthday girl again when I got up to hang my coat on the rack during a commercial break. Upon seeing her again, this is how our conversation went:
Leon: As you can see, I got another “Beautiful.“
Birthday Girl: Aww! You think I’m beautiful?! That’s so sweet!
Leon: Nah, I was talking about my drink. It’s called a “Beautiful,” remember?
Birthday Girl: *Get’s a blank expression, then frowns* Oh damn…
Leon: Not that you’re not beautiful, ’cause you are…but you know, this drink is the sh*t!
Birthday Girl: *Another blank stare*
Leon: That didn’t come out right…F*ck it. You look great. Enjoy your party!
I managed to be the only bad spot in that poor lady’s birthday celebration, but I left soon afterwards. I’m sure one of the guys that came to her party gave her some Happy Birthday sex, so she probably got over the “Beautiful” incident fairly quickly.
