Where do they all come from?
I look at all the lonely people,
Where dooooooo they all belong?
I’ve had songs by The Beatles stuck in my head all morning for some reason. It made me think of the Eddie Murphy sketch from Saturday Night Live where he played Clarence, the Fifth Beatle. I was hoping to find it to post here, but Saturday Night Live does not play around with their clips. The best I could do was find this clip of the “Black Beatles” over on ebaumsworld. It’s so stereotypical that it borders on minstrelsy, but I can’t lie…A couple of the songs did make me laugh:

Even though I couldn’t deliver on Clarence the Fifth Beatle, I can deliver on the promise of some Velvet Jones! Check it out, before NBC studio executives take down the clip. See? I still gave you all something to smile at!
We can work it out. We can work it oooooout!
Damn it. I’m doing it again…If I sing one more Beatles song today, I’m gonna let my hair grow, perm it, then sport a Black Beatles cut like Ike Turner did back in the day.

so it’s not just me who randomly hums “Elanor Rigby” and “I wanna hold your hand”…lol. And Eddie Murphy (classic) is hilarious. He is still one of my favorite comedians to date.
Lol, that was not a good look for Ike, I hope it’s better 4 you!
Leon, hit me on the email, I need to find out about that Express paper!!!

I have the Talib Kweli version. I like it, but I actually like the original song better for some reason.
