I just got through watching the 2nd version of Kanye West’s music video for Flashing Lights. Apparently, Kanye made three different videos for this song, the first being the one with Rita G walking around the desert in her underwear and murdering someone with a shovel. It was a little…different…but Rita G in very little clothing is always a good thing, so the 1st version is Leon-Approved. Now, onto the second video for Flashing Lights:
First off, let me clarify that no, there is nothing wrong with your computer or it’s internet connection. It’s shown as still images, so there’s no need to hit “refresh” or anything like that. What do you think of this version of the video? I personally feel that it’s very creative, yet a little unsettling. Plus, the girl reminds me of one of those American Apparel women from the advertisements I made fun of a few weeks ago. Definitely share your opinion here, because I’d love to hear what you all think.
Also, what do you think Kanye has lined up for the third video? I personally believe the third version is going to have a female mime in bodypaint walking through a rave, then getting into a dance battle with one of those glow-stick people, and overdosing on some invisible E pills.

This one is okay. I guess Kanye wanted to stick with an outside of the box concept. I appreciate the fact that he takes risks. I just wish he would have used his eccentric video taste on another song. I was really hoping the video for Flashing Lights would be classic.
It’s a different look for a Kanye video. Besides the fact that watching the video requires you to have some type of superpower to prevent your getting dizzy, it seems like this vid didn’t really fit the song to me.
I don’t exactly know what’s happening in the parts where Kanye shows up in the vid. However, he’s at that place in his career where he has total artistic freedom, and it doesn’t matter if you “get him” or not, because he’s already got his popularity and money. It’s pretty different though…in a good way.
I loved it. As an artist and photographer myself, the imagery is what hooked me! EACH frame was a POWERFUL image. People can say what they want about Kanye, but dude is a genius!!!
good concept, but I kinda felt like I was having a seizure, like when I watched Cloverfield! This video was making my vertigo act up… LOL!
I’m torn. I like the video, but not necessarily for that song. And, I wanna see some Dwele. Hopefully he’s in part 3.
Is she crying at the end because she realizes she slept with Kanye? I don’t blame her.
