News Networks Needs More Black Employees

Network news needs to hire more black people. The proof lies in the following video. Had there been a black person handy, maybe there would have been no need to create an entire news segment around this one little gesture:

First of all, they could have found someone in the mail room, or flagged down the UPS guy to get an answer to that reporter’s question. Instead, they decided to go on-location to the hood and find a brother with a bandana on his head to give an official explaination. Also, Patrick Riley has officially gotten his black card suspended until he completes a ghetto refresher course. NBC knew better than to come to a blogger like ME with that story.

NBC News - “Excuse me Mr ListenToLeon, can you tell me what that thing is that Barak and Michele Obama did onstage the other night?”

Me - “What? You all don’t have important news to report right now? I have to sell the future rights to my unborn children on the black market just to afford gas, and you dummies are wasting film on this sh*t?!”

NBC News -
“Uh…Nevermind. There is a black guy sitting at the bus stop. We’ll just go ask him.”

On that note, let me go cool off and avoid some of this heat. Thanks for stopping by today.

I couldn’t buh-lieve how many stories they did on the infamous fist bump.

And, btw, Mara Shiavocampo, the story’s reporter, is a sistah. So they got a least one of us there.

You know somewhere some rt wing hack is composing a commercial first he brushes his shoulders off, then he pounds his wife IS THIS WHAT WHO YOU WANT RUNNING YOUR COUNTRY!! *lol*

    Well actually, HELL YEAH!!

It is so funny because the pound meant something completely different for most blacks I think. Maybe since we had the jump on what they were doing.

I’m mad ad the media definitions. Now soccer moms will be trying to dap there husbands up when they come home for work. However who doesn’t KNOW what it is?

The coverage on the “Presidential Pound” was completely overblown. They weren’t trying to figure out what it was, anyone who watched ANY type of team sports has seen a pound. The reason behind the media hype was that it was done betweena black man and woman. The real issue is that the media has white people (and some blacks) believing that black men and women don’t get along. That we don’t love and support each other. They are convinced that black women especially have a single minded go for self mentality. The Presidential Pound illuminated the fact that there is not as much strife between us as previously reported. The Obama’s are the modern day Cliff and Claire Huxtable come to life and they weren’t ready for it. It’s easy to say the Huxtables were fictional and they way they loved was scripted but to see a moment so real and completely spontanoeous threw white folks for a loop.

I agree at how ignorant the coverage is over this. Then last nite, there was news clip where at white guy was welcoming Obama on stage & the w.guy held his fist up to Obama to get some dap, which Obama gave him, but the w.guy looked so damn stupid that it pissed me off. No idea what it means, what he was doing, etc., etc., etc…. heavy sigh…..

This is more significant than you may think. Fox news’ E.D. Hill referred to the “future first couple’s” pound as a “terrorist fist bump. WTF!!
