Hip Hop must be dead. I say this because nowadays the rap game bears a closer resemblance to the WWE than to real life. Rappers beefing with other rappers is nothing new. Battles have been around since the formative years of hip-hop culture. It’s just that over the past few years, things have gotten way past out of hand, to the point of being cartoonish.
It’s one thing when rappers go at each other. Nowadays, I’m hearing about rappers and industry chicks beefing with one another. 50 Cent goes on the radio and calls out 106 and Park VJs. Next, some video chick brags about shooting down Bow Wow at the All Star Game. Bow Wow then responds on YouTube, basically saying “I don’t even know you, but did I f*ck your friend.” Game makes an anti-groupie anthem, pissing off just about every Smooth Magazine cover girl from last year. It’s enough to make you think Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Savage are gonna jump out of some corner and start swinging on cats, talking ’bout “OOOOOOH YEEEAAAAAH” and “WHAT’CHA GONNA DO, BROTHER!!!”
What took the cake, was the clip that I listened to on WorldStarHipHop this evening. It was Young Buck on the phone with 50 Cent, trying to get back in his good graces after leaving G-Unit. Buck must have fallen on hard times, because he was pretty much in tears towards the end of the clip.
It’s sad to see a grown man humbled like that, but what’s worse is the fact that it’s even out there for the world to hear. Did he call 50 Cent at the radio station? Or did 50 actually tape the conversation, then put it out there for the world? Either way it’s some punk assed, Lifetime Movie of the Week, corny Jake The Snake vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan assed bullsh*t.
Rappers: Let’s get back to the music, and away from the theatrics.
Oh yeah, I have to send a shout-out to Vince McMahon, even though he didn’t give me any of his millions last night on Raw.

How about rappers let’s get back to something else, like (not dropping out of) class, or acquiring your GED, and learning how to speak the king’s English, and being able to kiss your momma with that mouth, and refraining from referring to our women as “bitches” and gardening utensils? Hm?
nas was right. but if you think about it(read ignore all the dumbasses in the game) since he dropped that shit there has been plenty of OK stuff put out there. Rappers be like tryin to prove Nas wrong! But thats just what i think.
F#*k the beef!
bow wow makes my head hurt… can he just go somewhere already??!!
I’m with Jaded – I can’t stand Bowwow. Didn’t a rumor come out just recently that he was fruity?
Besides all the beef these days is fabricated. Fake rappers get together over a sammich and a black/mild to discuss who is gonna hate who this year. All in an effor tto sell more records to the masses/sheep.
hip hop is now loaded with all types of wtfness…they’re all jokers to me now…with very few exceptions…

That’s why I stick to my old school on my iPod or the stations that play mostly old school music with some new mixed in. Don’t even watch videos like that no more. VERY rare occasion.
I couldn’t 50 released that phone call. I am sure it was edited to omit anything “soft” that 50 said. G-Unit has an album coming out soon and 50 loves to use rap beef as a marketing tool. Its a shame that grown men act like this.
Ok so I heard the very last part on the radio this morning (yes I know you graciously provided a link. I was at work and we were busy, couldn’t listen to it at the moment). That was a female move. Before my fellow ladies get mad let me explain. That is something we would do. Tape a conversation and play it for our girls “look what my man said. And he was showing off in front of his friends that night”. Why he gotta act like a female?

Of course rappers are into theatrics nowadays. They can’t rap, so they have to sell themselves on beefs and personality.
