As unbelievable as it sounds, rapper Plies has somehow managed to out-Flavor Flav Flavor Flav. The recently launched reality show, Bust It Baby features Plies’ search for the woman of his dreams. Hundreds of women showed up for the Tampa, Florida audition. Trust me when I tell you that these chicks are so rough around the edges, they make Flavor Of Love ones look like a chapter of The Links.
Or AKAs. Shout out to Alpha Kappa Alpha, since DC will be overrun by them this weekend in honor of their centennial anniversary. Plus, for some reason, they tend to be the ones I have dated more than any other sorority…So the least I can do is say Happy Birthday!
Back to the original subject…The clip of the Bust It Baby audition isn’t the most work-safe thing in the world, but here it is.
Allegedly, three major networks are in talks with Plies about airing this. As much as I dislike seeing another groupie bullsh*t reality show hit the airwaves, I do have to give Plies credit for being smart enough to make the show while he’s still got an album out and some buzz. He didn’t wait for VH1 to resurrect his career, as they’ve done for so many celebs whose 15 minutes have passed them by. Still, I seriously doubt I’ll be able to bring myself to watch this nationally-televised hoodrat convention.

@ MissJay, I’ve heard the remix, and it’s not too bad. He used a Janet Jackson sample, and it works for the radio. I’m officially old now, because I haven’t watched any video shows like 106th and Park in a LONG time. I’m out of the loop.
@ Anonymousnupe, I wouldn’t be suprised to see that. I see that VH1 took all the rejects from their other reality shows and found a way to recycle them and make another program out of it. So anything can happen!
@ KarrieB, that’s why I love watching The Boondocks. Aaron McGruder does a great job of highlighting how much ridiculous stuff is put out there in the name of “entertainment” these days. It kind of makes it rough for comedians, since it’s a fine line between poking fun at the stereotypes, and actually perpetuating them. I probably could word that a little better, but I’ll save it for another entry or something.

Yep, this video is kind of old. But this video pretty much sums up Tampa in many ways. This and Hogan Knows Best. And people wonder why I don’t miss that place. Oh yeah, Leon, remember that text message I sent to you a few months ago? We were at a raggedy ass strip club in Tampa when that incident occurred. Hell, I think I recognize a couple of broads from there on this video!
