Another Tribute

As my regular readers probably already know, it generally takes an act of God for me to take the focus off of comedy over here at ListenToLeon.net. That said, I was not prepared to address the deaths of two entertainment legends on consecutive days. As a result, Bernie Mac got a tribute, but I negected to do one for Isaac Hayes. Let me start by posting a classic clip from I’m Gonna Git You, Sucka where, Isaac encountered the cheapest man alive, played by Chris Rock:

You all can thank the dedicated comment efforts of Anonymousnupe for that, since he posted a link to this clip a few weeks back over here. I think he wa trying to call me a cheap bastard or something, but it’s cool. I’ve been called worse!

Seriously though, Isaac Hayes was one of the most important musicians of the past century, so it’s only right that I give him his proper due over here, just like I honored Bernie Mac. It’s interesting that those two just finished up a movie together with Samuel L. Jackson. I want to see it, but it’ll be a little surreal at the same time. Then again, look at The Dark Knight. That movie is breaking records left and right, with a dead star’s performance getting most of the press. I guess that means, I should be happy that even in death, Isaac and Bernie left us with something to look forward to. Rest in peace, and my prayers are with the respective families of both.

But you’re a funny parsimonious bastard (and a fellow HI/HU alum to boot).

Put ‘em your mouth and suck ‘em, suck ‘em!

Man, that episode was just on tv in the last week or two…I just loved that song!
    LOL

I did think Issac was a bit of a bitch for quitting the show just becuase they made fun of Scientology. That show made fun of every organized religion on the face of the earth – what made his special??
