Bacon Addiction

What part of the pig does bacon come from? Although I know that most questions about the origin of processed foods have disgusting answers that you’re probably better off remaning unaware of, I think that I need to hear this. I need to know because I am a bacon addict.

When I wake up in the morning, I think “A bacon, egg and cheese sandwich would be great right about now.” Whenever I go to a resturant, if there is an item on the menu involving bacon, it automatically gets more attention than everything else. I even had a dream about a Bacon Fairy waving a magic wand overtop of cartoon piglets and magically transforming them into BLT sandwiches to distribute to all of the swine lovers of the world. Yep, it’s THAT bad.

Right now, I’m in good shape, and eating fairly healthy when bacon isn’t around. The ListenToLeon abdominals are washbordian in stature, so my occasional bacon cravings aren’t affecting my physical appearance. Still, I don’t want to end up in a hospital one day, with a doctor telling me my arteries are stiff as uncooked macaroni.

I have decided to take the chitterling approach to solving this problem. Once I found out what chitterlings are, and WHY they smell the way they do, I could never bring myself to eat them. Can you blame me for not wanting to eat a cooked sh*t sack that makes the whole house stink while being prepared? If bacon’s origins are anywhere near as disgusting as chitterlings and sausage, maybe I’ll have less cravings for those oh-so delicious slices of heavenly goodness.

Thanks for my laugh today. My mom told me bacon comes from the pig’s back, so that’s safe, dontcha think? Not too close to his butt (died laughing @ the sh*t sack), and not close to his snout (won’t even go there), so…. get ready to have those macaroni arteries! Enjoy :-D

“Bacon is defined as any of certain cuts of meat taken from the sides, belly or back of a pig that may be cured and/or smoked.”

That sucks…bacon’s origin is nowhere near as disgusting as chitterlings or sausage. I guess I just have to use self discipline.

@ AKAdemicz, I like turkey bacon a lot, too.

I saw on food network that bacon comes from the back. Glad it doesn’t come from somewhere else. If you’re never had chitterlings then consider yourself lucky. My dumb ass let my sis-in-law talk me into trying shittlins (a nick name give by my mom), they taste like they smell. Nasty as hell!

Is anyone else as tickled by the ad following this post as I am?

“Program for Binge Eating, Food Addiction, Compulsive Eating Residential, Non-Hospital Setting”

And why do most things just seem to taste better when bacon is involved?

Had a Ollies Bacon Cheese Burger for lunch and I don’t care where it comes from. I’m Jamaican. We tend to eat just about anything on four legs from the rooter to the tooter…lol!!

I have houseguests this weekend. They requested bacon for breakfast. It was as much a treat for me as it was for them. I suggest you eat bacon only on special ocassions. You can’t give it up forever!

I don’t know where it comes from. I do know that the Baconator at Wendy’s is 830 delicious calories. Its definitely a diet killer.

I’m pretty sure bacon is mostly pork bellies.
