Over the course of the past few days, blogging has been good to me. Aside from the fact that ad revenue wasn’t what I hoped it would be for September(partially due to the site being crippled for a week), I’ve had a lot of reasons to smile thanks to my little slice of the internet right here. I’m not even sure where to begin…
Oh yeah…let’s start with congratulations to Metro Man for being quoted in today’s Express newspaper, along with yours truly! As much as I love seeing my name in there, it’s twice as cool when I see mine, along with someone whose site I read and who comments here on a regular basis.
This Saturday, I went to a local blogger get-together organized by Sista Socialite. At first I felt a little funny about going since I had never read any of the blogs of the people there except for Kayellejaye, who was the one who talked me into attending. As it turns out, she was just using me so that she would not have to walk in there alone. So since I was literally used for my body, I thought about asking her to let me use her for hers later on…Then I remembered that I’m talking about Kayellejaye, the one straight woman on Earth who does not want anything to do with my soul pole. I decided to ease back and possibly save that offer of Leon Jr. jr on a platter for some other occasion if she acts right.
I can’t front though, I am very happy that I went. I met a lot of cool folks, and got exposed to a bunch of great blogs. I’m too lazy to find a clever way to name drop, so I’m just going to list them here: the aforementioned Sista Socialite, E2Deep, Coca Cola Cutie, Super Dave Van Buren, 1/3 and my man Brran1, who comments here from time to time. Now, I have plenty of new ways to kill productivity in the name of blogging.
Yesterday evening on my way to the gym, I got recognized by a reader on the street. Not just any kind of reader, but a very cute one. I’m so glad that good looking people seem to like my sense of humor! Not to alienate the ugly demographic, because I love their support too. It’s just that compliments sound better when they are accompanied by a pretty smile :)
Last night, I watched the Presidential Debate, but not in the usual way. I watched it while participating in a live chat with other bloggers hosted by BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com. I randomly happened upon the chat while playing around in Twitter, and next thing you know, I’m trading insight with 80 different bloggers, some I was already familiar with, others were new discoveries for me. Overall, it was pretty fun to hear so many different viewpoints in real-time.
*Edit* I almost forgot to mention that I happened to run into Arjewtino on a Wednesday night a couple of weeks ago, and ended up hanging out with him as well as RooshV, Virgle Kent, and a couple of other really cool bloggers whose names escape me at the moment. I think it’s safe to say that if the DC blogging community were to band together and form some sort of “Fight Club” secret society, we could literally take over the city. Viva la Project Mayhem!!!
Basically, to sum everything up: Yes, I am a web geek…and no, I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Dayummmm. I always find out about the DC Bloggers Meet-N-Greets after the fact. You aint doin’ a good job keepin’ ya boy in the loop man.
As far as being recognized. It’s kinda weird at first. Then it’s always at places you don’t expect like the grocery store. You lucked out with the cutey though. I’m always greeted by the less than attractive readers. Makes me feel like my blog is being read by a bunch of Aunt Esther and Grady from Sanford & Son lookin’ folks.
Don’t forget the accidental blogger meet-up a couple of weeks ago.
hey If you didn’t come to the meet I never would have gotten your grade A hood business card lol. i can’t even front after seeing yours i wanted to make some for my site.
Kayellejaye seems pretty feisty (She’s GREAT though), so good luck and Leon Jr. lol
Yo, I had fun that nite…Hope to do it again.
By the way who’s that reader that was cute??? lol
