My friend Hassan showed me the trailer to this movie a few hours ago, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing it:

Looks pretty funny to me.
Also, I want to take a moment to publicly thank Eddie Jordan, former coach of the Washington Wizards. I cite injuries and the front office moves of this past summer as the reason the team is stinking it up right now…NOT Eddie Jordan. So once again, thanks for doing so much to bring respectability back to Washington DC when it comes to NBA basketball. You always handled yourself with class and dignity, and I have no doubt that you’ll be an NBA coach once again before too long.
To the Wizards organization, you all better hope that Gilbert Arenas can return to his pre-injury form after this 3rd surgery. I don’t want to see the team regress back to that “Bullets” level of sh*tty play that I was subjected to watching during my childhood.

This flick must have taken 3 times longer than projected to shoot, ’cause how could they deliver those lines without falling over and busting a gut every time someone yelled “Action!”? Dang, Michael Jai White must be hurtin’ for work since “Why Did I Get Married?” Well, he is a “C” level actor anyway, so I guess it’s apropos.
And the Wiz will never go anywhere with Gil as the offensive focus. He does nothing to make teammates better. Eddie Jordan’s gonna land on a team with some actual NBA-caliber talent (no offense, Caron) and bring them into Verizon to annihilate the Wiz. I hope he made out like the proverbial fat rat, and I hope the Wiz don’t even get a top 5 draft pick, just for doin’ EJ so wrong. (But I would love it, though, if Stephen Curry ended up here. Dude’s gonna light up the league.)
Now, lemme just hit this “review” button before I post this, and…
I kinda gotta agree with anonymous, even though I like Eddie Jordan…i never EVER liked the makeup of they team. they got four guns on they squad (arenas, deshawn, jamison, and caron) and they don’t mesh well at all. No one on the Wiz knows how to play defense except for Caron and Etan Thomas, and he’s an undersized 4 playing center. They’d have been better off trading Gilbert to Dallas (proposed deal turned down by Washington) to get Devin Harris and a #1 for Gilbert. Go get a PG, and a back to basket power forward (Boozer and Bosh are ’09 or ’10 free agents) and build there. You can get guys to play in DC because of the market. The team needs a major overhaul, we’ll see what happens…

WTF? A movie of this standard in 2008??? Couldn’t help but cringe…
Ed The Sports Fan knows his shiznet. I agree completely. Arenas IS NOT A POINT GUARD. The offense is very stagnant whenever he brings the ball up court. Everyone knows he’d much rather shoot than distribute the ball so everyone stands around and watches him. He’ll only give the ball up when he gets double or triple teamed.
Plus Gilbert doesn’t even try to play defense. It’s painful to watch.
The whole mix of this team sucks and I don’t see it getting any better.
@ Wonderlove, it’s making fun of the Blaxploitation genre, like an updated “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka.” If you’re a fan of 70′s cinema or B movies, it looks like it could be really funny.
@ H. Neloms and Ed The Sports Fan, you’re right about Gil not being a true point guard. The offense seemed to be most effective to me when Antonio Daniels handled the ball, and Arenas was used as a scorer.
As much as I like watching him play, I thought they either should have let Arenas go when he opted out, or let Jamison go and picked up someone younger(or a veteran defensive presence). Re-signing them both told me that they were expecting different results from essentially the same group of guys that LeBron James has wiped his ass with for the past three years.
@ Anonymousnupe, I think that role looks like it was tailor-made for Michael Jai White. He gets to do the action stuff, and also gets to show some personality. I also like Stephen Curry’s game. My only question is whether his lack of size will limit him. Even if it does, he could be like a Juan Dixon type of player with the way he puts up points.
Steph is better than Juan Dixon now! He’s quite tall enough to play the 1, and is averaging more assists so far this year than Jason Richards–his teammate from last year–who led the nation in assists! Of course he’ll have to adjust to the speed of the NBA game, but he’s averaging over 35 points and 10 dimes a game, I think, now without even tryin’ hard, LOL!
And I just want to point out to Neloms that through the transitive property of reasoning, you agree with me, too, because Ed the Sports Fan first agreed with me…then you agreed with him. LOL!
LOL @ Anonymousnupe. Stephen Curry actually had a class with my cousin Jeffrey last year at Davidson. Jeffrey played football and finished up in May, but he was the first person to tell me all that stuff Curry was doing in the tournament, he was doing to competition all year!
“Raated Ar-Ruh!” LMAO!!
That movie trailer was hilarious! Oh my dayum! Was that Arsenio Hall and Tommy Davidson I saw???
*dead*
WTF @ Transitive Property…fucking nerds, i feel like my nerd cred has been taken down a notch because i havent used the phrase in 10 years…

How ironic? Steph curry was held scoreless last night! By Loyola! But Davidson still won by 30! They doubled him the entire night…even when the game was well out of reach. The ESPN story is here
@ Anonymousnupe, that strategy was pointless. Why bother doubling, when the rest of the team is still kicking your teeth in? They ended up taking their own leading scorer out of his game, since he had to shadow Curry all night long. The coach should have just taken that beating like a man. Instead, he now looks like a loser AND an idiot.
