Last week, the creators of the film “Black Dynamite” sent me a shirt in appreciation of my featuring the clips over here. The shirt even came with a note that said:
“Leon, Can you dig it? – Black Dynamite”
It’s kind of cool to see that the folks I write about sometimes end up reading ListenToLeon.net. I tend to forget that it’s not just my friends and family looking at this thing. I guess that’s good when it comes to appreciative people sending me gifts. On the other hand, it could suck if one of the people I’ve made fun of decides to track me down and hit me with a weapon, Tonya Harding-style. It could be anybody: OJ Simpson, The Iraqi shoe tossing reporter, Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, Governor Bad Hair…I mean Blagojevich…
Wait a minute! All of these people are either already in jail, or well on their way. They have bigger fish to fry right now. None of ‘em have time to worry about what a guy named Leon is saying!
Back to folks that appreciate Leon…1800 Select Silver sent me another bottle of tequila, but this one is from their Essential Artists collection. The Essential Artists Series is a limited edition collection decorated by a number of acclaimed artists.
The bottle that I received was done by Josh Ellingson out of Oakland. This makes a very nice Christmas gift, although I wouldn’t even want to open up a limited edition bottle like this to take a drink from it.
Oh yeah, before I type any further, this is a message to my friends: If any of you comes to my house and opens this bottle, you better enjoy that drink…because you will need a proctologist and possibly an x-ray technician to help you find and remove that bottle and my foot from where I will put them. Trust me, 1800 is good, but it’s not THAT good.
