I pride myself on being a positive spirit, so there aren’t many things in life that lead me to use the word “hate.” However, I truly hate the DMV. I hate that place with a passion. A spirited passion, at that. A Samuel L. Jackson “I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!” type of passion. That is the level of disdain and utter disgust that courses through my veins at the mere mention of this place.
I’m not going to go into too many details, since I have to make a return trip to that smelly little slice of Hell on Earth in a few moments. I just took some time out to see if anyone else shares my sentiment as far as trips to the DMV. If you’ve ever been screwed over by the DMV or by negative DMV employees, this is your chance to speak on it!
This where calling MD, DC and VA the DMV makes things iffy. I thought you were referring to the area, not the morbid place where you sacrifice life and limb for a new license or minute sticker with a year on it.
Oh, I hate that place w/every ounce of my life’s essence. They are the worst of the DC Gov’t employees, who as a whole, are the tackiest people on this good green earth. All the women there wear gaudy jewelry, swap meet clothes and makeup by Crayola, sanctioned by BoZo the Clown. All the men dress like they’re going to a Frankie Beverly and Maze show every damn day of the year. And then are mad at us like we’re the frenemy that let them go out the house looking like that. Just treating the citizenry with utter disgust and contempt, like they never wanted that job in the first place, but been there since the 2nd Barry administration.
I’m looking for work, but my pride, dignity and proper upbringing by actual humans will not allow me to become a part of their ridiculous legion of idiocy.

I cant lie, I cringed when I learned I had to go to the Baton Rouge DMV, but when I got there, they impressed the piss outta me. They have a 2 large waiting rooms, a boatload of booths with DMV employees, and person at the door who gives you a ticket # depending on what youre there for. Two screens display the current # and the automated lady announces it a few times. Smooth as the fluff.

I agree with Nubian….the branch in Laurel runs effectively but the branch in Upper Marlboro/Largo well that’s a whole different story… the service, the people, the attitudes, the wait just ridiculous.
It took me bout 6 times to get my license playing with those Mo-Fos. 3 out the six was because I kept getting a dude just as wide as all outside, and couldn’t see out my passenger side mirror. So everytime I hit a curb or switch lanes that was soon followed by someone in the eclipse area on the right side of my car blowing their horn at me, FAT ALBERT marked me off. And this happened every damn time. THe last two times, chick wanted me to cross the rail road tracks while the damn lights were blinking and the train could clearly be seen blowing down the tracks. Yeah, my license is so important that I want to be splattered on the front of a bullet train to express my dedication.
I feel you man. I hate the DMV as well. I was lucky enough last time to go to the one in Charles County to renew my license and somehow I managed to be in and out in 10 minutes. I don’t know how I did it but looking back on it I should have played power ball that day….
The one in Largo, MD has got to be the worst. They have attitude and they are slow. Send you to multiple windows and you still get no where. Yes, they should ALL burn in H*LL. That is to say the least. I know several people have stated that is the worst one they have ever experienced. They will send you away pissed off and crying.

The DMV in ATL (which they call the DDS, which reminds me of dentists and gives me anxiety) felt like walking into a dark gloomy trailer. for real.
like…it was an actual trailer. and so dim inside you needed a flashlight. i spent a miserable hour of my life in there trying to get my GA license, then had to go to ANOTHER building to get my plates. I never want to move again. Ever.

I failed my driving test today for the 3rd time.
1st try: while turning on a protected green light to my left, I was disqualified for not yielding to the car that was turning on my lane, towards his right. WTF?
2nd try: With the first experience, I was uber cautious, so paused 1 second too many before going forward with a green light. Failed because I was “too cautious” therefore disrupted the traffic flow.
3rd try: Everything went great! Except a jaywalker crossed in the middle of the street and I did not make a full stop, while he was already on the OTHER SIDE of the street. Failed for endangering a pedestrian’s life. When he had already crossed.
Uuugh, I’m trying another DMV, hopefully it’ll have less jerks for staff.
I completely agree I just had the most ridiculous and aggravating experience there yesterday. All I want to do is take on my husbands name now that we are married. Last week I went to the SS office and they changed it on my SS card without giving me any guff about it. However when I went to the DMV they would not change my name because they wouldn’t accept my marriage certificate. The marriage certificate I have was issued to me by the clergy that married us, it has an official seal and is signed by the witnesses. Now this is an official document that shows we are married. What the DMV wants though is a copy of our marriage license, but that doesn’t show anything, when we went to get the license they didn’t even ask for ID or anything they just asked us our names. Anyway my marriage certificate is a keepsake to me and the lady at the counter waved it around and crinkled it up saying it was nothing and no good and anybody could just make one up, basically calling me a liar and damaging my certificate. They are bunch of idiotic useless scum sucking ass holes!
The DMV at Concord and Charlotte NC are HORRIBLE. I hate standing in line for 20 minutes and then waiting in the seating area for 50 more while EVERY SINGLE other number is called (even the ones who came after me). The bastards are rude as hell, I gave them my BEST smile my most polite attitude and they return it with very rude and impatient comments. Worst of all, they took me to a TINY (like half the size of a neighborhood single lane) road for the 3 point turn, which I failed. Both of my family cars are big trucks, so naturally I had to do a 5 point turn but I didn’t get off the road or hit anything and they still failed me for HAVING A BIG CAR, which is totally out of my control. ASSHOLES, wait till I become a doctor and over charge their sorry asses.
Took my daughter for her test and the lady failed her for being too cautious? What? Are you serious?!?!?!? OMG!!!! Her turns were a little too slow GGGRRR
The DMV in Union County is also horrible, at least the person we got. She was extremely rude! When I went up to the her desk, I said “hi how are you today” and she completely ignored me. She then took my son on his driving test and rolled her eyes anytime he did anything wrong. Just like the about posts took my son on to a tiny single lane road and he could not do a 3 point turn, he did a 5 point and she failed him. He also drove on this single lane road and she said he drove in the middle, he couldn’t drive on the right side because there wasn’t a right side, it was a single lane! She then lectured me,in front of about 20 other people like I failed the test. We will not go back there. I don’t think rolling your eyes at any teenager who is trying to drive a good thing. He might have failed with a different tester but she didn’t have to be rude and try to humiliate him.
I was failed today for being “too cautious” that is a load of shit. It’s bad enough that I was made to take a drivers test because we are military and were stationed overseas for a few years, but the Nevada DMV is full of morons. I’ve been driving for 14 years and have kids, of course I’m going to drive cautious! Idiots!

Union county DMV is the worst . There is a lady there Patterson that is so rude and mean. All of the other testers knew ahead of time that she would fail my daughter. In Fact, she fails most teenagers and is extremely rude to the parents. I have never met anybody with such an attitude. I felt she used discrimination against us!!! She knows exactly what she is.

I’ve been three times, and each time I’ve had to leave and come back with a new form. Today it was because I didn’t have a front license plate. Any way, after two years of bullshit I was ready to get my license. I failed because I didn’t stay on the right side of the DMV driveway. How could this be, considering it’s ONE LANE?! I was just supposed to stay on the right shoulder I guess. What’s terrible about failing isn’t the humiliation, or the feeling that I’m perpetuating bad female driving steriotypes, but the fact that in two weeks I have to go back.
Remember when there was a nasty DMV office on H Street NE? I was there finally getting served at the window and a cockroach walked across the counter. The clerk screamed and insisted (at first I thought she was joking) that I kill it before she would continue helping me.
Bitch failed me for a parallel park too far from curb, and a few marks of +/- 3 MPH over/under speed limit.

This woman, who tested me 2 weeks ago, tested me again today. (Doesn’t DMV have a policy that the examiner who failed you once can’t test you again??) Nevermind that, as soon as we got on the road, she failed me for driving -/+4 under / over the speed limit. She claimed it was a critical error. Somehow, I don’t think so.
Nonetheless, she passed the guy who went before me whom she has known for 13 years and is the son of one of her best friends. I saw him running over a curb as soon as the test began.

Had a license for years, and it recently got marked under suspension because of an “error.” I lost a job because I couldn’t drive, and it took a month to take me off suspension even after I submitted the forms they requested!
Any time I called in to check up, I was treated like a criminal over a mistake that *they* made. They “didn’t receive” my form the first 2 times I sent it (via fax). The last time I faxed it to them, it still took a week for them to get it processed. And even though they made a mistake, if I had been driving and got pulled over, my car would have been impounded and I would have gotten an automatic 8 points on my license!
There’s no “I hope they burn in hell,” these inept, bureaucratic morons are *defiantly* going to burn in hell for the crap they pull. They’re lower on the morality scale than debt collectors.
i hate this office for they said my passport was invalid. hadn’t they already seen the gliteering and shining marks on my Philippine Passport!!!!
i just wanted to have this stupid state id!! i said the passport is not invalid for i used it to enter the us back and forth for a couple of years how come would it be invalid…. stupid office.!!! i hope they all rot in hell!!!

I hate the dmv because my picture id expired and they will not fix the problem, I cannot get my birth certificate for the pitcher id expired, I have all kinds of pitcher id the dam dmv will not see any of it all.
I want is my dam picture id then they will put you on hold on the phone for 30 minute or more.

No phone numbers to call individual offices. Only certain branches handle complicated issues. The only number you can or ever will get is the one to Baton Rouge and half the time you get an automated recording .. “we’re sorry…due to unusually high call volume we are unable to take your call at this time. Please call back.” *click* phone hangs up ….
You have your representative fax information to them, time and time again but “we’ve never received anything” is all you hear!
You give up and have the info faxed to you but some mullet head bitch (after you’ve driven an hour to the shitty location and waited nearly two hours to be called back) says “I can’t take this!!! This needs to be faxed to us!!!”
I have a story from HELL! My eyes are burning to bad from crying to tell it all tonight though.

Waited in a long line with some weird ass people only to get rejected, biggest walk of shame after that.
Today I visited Cary DMV office. I found a very rude lady there. she was taking pride in humiliating others. She was at reception and then she moved to picture point. She was seen hurting so many people. Not sure why DMV keep these type of officers. Wrapping bad people in uniform make thing worse. I feel sorry for NC DMV on having such kind of so called officers
I hate them! Here in New Jersey, they’re like minions from hell most especially the ones in Bayonne. They’re power-tripping fakers who act like they own you. They’re the perfect simpletons you can ever think of. One of them asked for my university diploma and records, i graduated 2002 and said that it’s expired… OMG! After 3 times of the painstaking back and forth and falling in line… I got fed up and went to the Jersey City branch and got it within an hour. When i applied for a driver’s,unfortunately, i had to go back to the DMV hell in Bayonne to take my written and these morons said that my name on the system is different from the one on the card. HOW the F**k would i know? My name on the card is right. They refused to give me my written test after paying for it and said I have to get it corrected. I went to Jersey DMV to inquire and they told me that everything’s is ok. Sometimes I wish they get struck by lightning. Hate them with a passion and a vengeance.

I hate the DMV so much and it was my first experience going there too. Even when I passed the writing part of the driving test I didn’t feel satisfied at all because the stupid bitch behind the counter didn’t hand me my permit because the computer had a stupid glitch. She then told me to sit amd wait. After 2 hours or so, I tried asking her again how long I have to wait, and she fking raised her voice at me and said, “I DONT KNOOOWWW SIRRR. YOU CAN WAIT OR JUST GET OUT!” and she said this with the most bitchiest attitude that you could ever imagine. I left the DMV with only just a graded test and no permit and a bottle of hatred for the DMV.
The fucking DMV sucks! It’s a god damn rat hole, and the tests of created by the devil himself. Every question had at least 2 right answers. It fucking sucks! I hate that place!
Man! I hate the DMV! there a bunch of lucifer children! Fucking ass holes! I went to get my drivers license and they fucking failed me! What the Fuck! I thought I was doing good! This one fucking dumbass lady took me far and it was a long test! Before it was my test I saw she passed this one girl and her drive test was only 8-10 min long. I was second in line and my test took me about 20-25 min long! I’m pissed! I am fucking pissed! I could give them three good reasons to why I need my license.
1. Major reason- I will attending college this year in September. So I need my license to drive to college. I do not live nowhere near to college.
2. I want to get a job. I want to help support my family. I have a mom but no dad. My mom is raising the children- me my sister a brother. So I want to get a job to help my mom out.
3. I won’t be even driving a fucking car. I have my motorcycle endorsement but before they could put M endorsement I need to have my drivers license. If they could slap my motorcycle endorsement on my drivers permit I wouldn’t be there.
Got my license. Examiner gave me 71% though. Said I hit the brakes too hard and went too slow. They also freaked out and exploded at me when I lied about my height. I’m 5’10, but I put 6’0
Today I failed my drivers test for two reasons; being too cautious and… As we pulled up to a stoplight we were already partway past the left turn lane and I was already braking when she yells oh make a left turn!!! I couldn’t get over because another car had pulled to my left. So as I turned behind this car from the middle lane ( very safely). She failed me … For her lack of paying attention , fuck the dmv

I hate the DMV! I’ve always heard terrible things about the place but have never been there until today. It was for my permit test. First thing, the wait. OMFG. Took me an hour to actually reach the lady at the window. She was rude and mean overall. I then had to wait in line for the actual test. took it, passed no problem. I then notice back home, they got my birthdate wrong. Seriously? So I drive back (20 minutes) wait for another 20 minutes because the lady i had before was “on break” she comes back and doesnt say sorry for her mistake. she fixes the date and tells me to go back and get my new permit. I get my permit and come back for her to sign it off. While doing this, she continues to berate me for “my mistake” because I should have listened carefully? WTF. She was the one that put in all my info on my permit so why is this my fault? No apology for making me wait at least two more hours for her mistake. This DMV is in Orange county, California.
Oh I just walked out of the dmv, happy as hell when I went in. Left 30 seconds later steaming. That’s all it takes for the dmv to change my moods. The freaking front number giving lady only took thirty seconds to anger me. That should be a world record. The best of it all? They speak english! So its not like you’re calling your credit card company and getting someone who doesn’t understand english.
