Candace Parker, a.k.a. the only WNBA player who makes me set aside time to watch her games, is pregnant. I had no idea that she is married to Shelden Williams of Duke University fame, who is now playing for the Sacramento Kings. Now that I know that the only woman over six feet tall whom I’d ever think to holler at is not only taken, but with child, I must unleash my unfiltered thoughts about the situation.
First off, I want to make sure that no one is suprised when this couple’s unborn fetus becomes the first pick in this year’s NBA or WNBA draft, depending on the sex. It’s only a matter of time before this child becomes an outstanding athlete, coming from these two oversized slam-dunking bohemoths. That little young’un is gonna climb out the womb, slap the doctor, flex his six pack for the nurses, do 200 push ups, then start jumping rope with the umbilical cord.
Second, the WNBA and it’s sponsors are probably at some bar right now, drinking HEAVILY! That was their biggest star, and now she’s going to take a year off. Picture the NBA back when Michael Jordan left to play baseball, but with less than a third of the fan base. WNBA basketball will survive, and Parker will be back after the baby is born, but you’d have to imagine that the league is taking somewhat of a financial hit by not having her out there on the court.
Third, I’m not making any jokes about Shelden Williams, because he looks like he could kick me to Hell and back without even breaking a sweat. I know when to hold ‘em and I know when to fold ‘em…

Yeah the WNBA is mad upset that they will have just 27 viewers for this next season. Candace Parker is a BEAST, I tells ya. As a former hooper myself *buffs nails on shirt* (ignores the fact that she is 5’4 and hasn’t played since high school. oh and really wasnt all that good) CP makes me proud.
Ya know what? She’s due in the Spring. Don’t be shocked if she is in shape in time for the season to start. That baby is gonna get a Sports Illustrated cover.
She’s pretty, but her man? *sighs* I just hope that baby doesn’t come out looking like Flava Flav or T-Pain – which inevitably, it will. My only hope now is that it’s not a GIRL.
