Inauguration Weekend in DC: I have not seen this many fur coats in one place since “Pimps Up, Hoes Down” first aired on HBO. I know it’s cold, so I can understand the need for warmth. It’s just funny to me, because I didn’t know that fur coats were still going strong like that. I guess if you pay thousands of dollars for a coat, you’re wearing it on such a historic occasion. PETA be damned!
Speaking of this historic occasion, I headed to the Metro, saw the crowd, then said “To Hell with this!” and turned right back around. I’m slightly under the weather so I know that watching things on TV is probably my best course of action. I’m not all that pressed to be out there in person, since the weekend on Metro leading up to today has been ridiculous. Still, I’m extremely happy that this day is here because I never thought it would happen in my lifetime. A black president and the Arizona Cardinals in the Super Bowl? Who could have predicted that? I think I’m buying a lottery ticket this evening!
I have enough material from this past weekend to keep you all laughing for the next month, so definitely stay tuned. I’ll be back after the festivities calm down a bit!

LOL! I have been saying the same thing about fur coats all weekend. I was at the Kennedy Center yesterday and it was full of them. I saw a man with a full length fur and a grey ponytail. Probably from Chicago.

Dude! It was cold as a crack-whore’s nose on the 28th of the month! If I had a fur, I would have worn it and wished some PETA person had stepped in my general direction. Also, keep in mind that a lot of these people came from the mid-west. The MW is cold. Folks wear furs ’round those parts to the grocery store (except in Detroit cus they get robbed).
