You know times are rough when McGruff the crime dog gets assaulted. Saturday in Colombia Heights, a police officer dressed as McGruff the Crime Dog was minding his own business, teaching kids how to take a bite out of crime…when a Metro bus driver got the drop on him and took a bite out of his ass with a right hook!
I don’t know what possessed the bus driver to get up and punch a guy in a costume in front of a bunch of kids, but that’s soe cold business! I mean, I know driving a bus with a bunch of smelly passengers has to suck sometimes, but it’s kind of messed up to take it out on a grown man in a cartoon character costume with a giant head attached. He was either under the influence of something, or badly in need of anger management. While part of me laughed at the story, the other half kind of wished that the kids had rushed that bus driver and repeatedly stomped him in the nuts.
The worst part of the story is that Officer McGruff never saw it coming, thanks to that big ass costume head. Getting sucker punched sucks. Getting sucker punched in a big ass costume really has to ruin your afternoon. I hope that bus driver gets what he deserves, because McGruff didn’t want any trouble! He just wanted to relax in his 1970’s trench coat and keep the kids out of trouble!

The driver said he did it to be funny. But what would possess him to think the kids would find it funny? He’s clearly got mental issues and should be locked away with the other crazies.

Well the driver did say he was trying to be funny, he succeeded mightily in that regard. KARMA KILLS! Even for McGruff…

Seems Metro never did a thorough background check. The guy was once arrested for prostitution. I’m not making this up I swear!!

Brim, who has been employed by Metro since 2003, will undergo drug and alcohol testing by Metro officials, and his future with the agency is under review, Smith said. Brim has a history of arrests in the District of Columbia, including on suspicion of prostitution on Oct. 30, 2006, possession of PCP in 1994 and possession of a gun in 1990, according to court records. In each case, prosecutors declined to file the charges in court.

So, basically, our Metro drivers need to have the same blow in the tube before the car can start device that they use for people convicted of a DUI. What in the Krispy Kreme hell is this world coming to.
