Domestic Violence

I have really been trying to avoid writing about the topic of domestic abuse lately. It’s something that I am strongly against, but also an area where I know there are plenty of gray areas, which makes it tricky to deal with. My fellow bloggers and the mainstream media have all made me quite tired of the Chris Brown and Rhianna saga, so I was hoping to get a quick break. Then, I log on my computer this morning and see that BeBe Winans was recently arrested for beating his ex wife.

BEBE WINANS?! I know they say we all fall short of God’s grace sometimes, but I never thought I’d see BeBe’s holy-roller self facing domestic abuse charges! I don’t want to pass judgement since I don’t know all the facts…but you know this is a comedy site. Therefore, I must share all of the brilliantly ignorant thoughts that passed through my mind upon seeing this story:

Thought 1: Ladies, it doesn’t seem to be a good time to date R&B singers. Leave them alone, and get with a humorist like such as myself. I’ll keep you smiling, and I promise never to Chris Brown the sh*t out you. Worst-case scenario, I’ll just make some jokes that hit too close to home and piss you off. Chris Brown your self esteem and dignity…but no actual violence!

I really wanted to avoid writing about this topic, but it seems like the news just keeps getting worse and worse these days. My fellow bloggers and the mainstream media did a good job of beating me half to death with the Chris Brown and Rhianna saga. Now, I check the news and see BeBe Winans mugshot up there.

Thought 2: BeBe and CeCe could SANG! Not “sing”, but “SANG”, people!!! I miss those two.

Thought 3: If BeBe goes to jail, I hope the other inmates leave him alone. I may send boxes of cigarettes to that dude myself, just to keep the bullies off of him! Can’t have a BeBe walking around worried about protecting the sanctity of his ass!

Thought 4: Once again, I’m back at this question: What is it with celebrities with the last named “Brown” and domestic abuse arrests? Chris. Bobby. James. Jim. Lord, please don’t let Chuck Brown be next!

Yes, I know Bebe’s last name isn’t “Brown.” The question is, do I give a sh*t. The answer to that question is, “Of course not.” I’m telling my damned “Brown Beater” joke again, because I feel like it!

Thought 5: I know no one knows how to push the right buttons to piss a man off like than his woman, but still…When you get to a point where you’re thinking to yourself:

“If she touches my face ONE MORE TIME,  I will her in a f*cking sleeper hold! The woman is MADE OF BITCH!”

That’s the point where you need to walk away, and figure out a plan to end the relationship for good. In a LEGAL way! Just had to clarify, before any crazy Rae Carruth-ass mofos reading this start loading up their guns and whatnot.

There you go…those are my unfiltered thoughts upon reading the BeBe Winans story. To all woman-beaters: Please stop it. No one respects a man that hits his woman.

I’ve heard through the back channels that the Winans are not a nice bunch, for real-for real. And you know, nothing really surprises me much anymore, not even this. (After all, he did play an FBI agent in the Manchurian Candidate.)

And we’ll know the Apocalypse is really upon us when Charlie Brown finally gets tired of Lucy pulling the football away submits her in a kamora!

    Well…gotdamn.

Tonight begins my nightly search to see if I can spot the Four Horsemen, then. Lol, it was nice knowing everyone.

I’m with anonymousnupe on this one. Nothing really surprises me anymore. People are capable of pretty much anything; good or bad. But it does make you say “WTF” when folks whose persona is build upon a certain image, and seeing them “fall from grace” through the infliction of violence upon another person. Just shows how infallibly human we are.

But what’s interesting is how those who don’t have that “squeaky-clean” image, are able to somewhat get away with the behavior, and having it brushed off as almost expected. There’s like this weird dbl standard. Wrong is wrong.

I hope he and his ex-wife get the help they need, because obviously something is wrong.

craziest part of this story is the actual report of what happened. Dude went to pick up the kids. she ran out to the car to say something to the kids. she is talking to the kids and he is trying to leave. He gets out and tells her to get away from the car. A push. She hits the ground. She calls the cops. He gets arrested.
