I Am Convinced…

I am convinced that BET will air any movie whatsoever, as long as it’s stars black people. Right now, I see that “Sunset Park” is on. I know that I watched this movie when I was little…but I remember NOTHING about it. Usually, that means I made some kind of sub-conscious effort to erase it from my memory. That, or I fell asleep while it was on. Neither is a good thing…

It’s funny seeing a young Terrance Howard in this movie, but the film is bad.

REALLY bad.

Like, the writers sold their souls to Satan, and Satan gave ‘em back, saying “this one’s on the house” bad.

The fact that it’s on BET right now gives me hope that the Kung Fu Niggas screenplay that I worked on with my friend P may actually have a place to call home someday. I’m going to end this entry right now, so I can finish getting my pitch together for the execs at BET Films.

  2. All I remember about “Sunset Park” is their chant/theme song when they were about to hoop.

    “You gotta be alive
    You gotta represent
Sunset Park, what time is it?”

Is the word they used “alive”? Eh, if it aint, then I dont know.

  6. Normally, I agree with all anti-BET sentiments, and maybe its my youth, but I like Sunset Park. I mean the story line is solid even though the acting isn’t the best.. and it was mad in like what, 96?

  8. “It’s time to get live”

At least that’s what I think they said LOL. Either way, I saw this movie, or parts of it, at a sleepover my freshman year in high school. I remember Dusk til Dawn and Tales From The Hood better than Sunset Park.
