With the ever-growing number of social media sites out there, I am having a little trouble figuring out a good way to manage them all. Right now, I visit some of them way more often than others. I know that finding a balance would be a good way to keep the ListenToLeon comedy movement on people’s minds without having to resort to subliminal messages or outright bribery. That said, I have a bad case of Attention Deficit Iain’tgotnopatience Disorder, so I can’t remember to check all these different sites on a regular basis.
I would like to establish something better than my current strategy, so any and all suggestions are welcome. How much time a day do you devote to Social Media sites? Don’t answer that if it’s going to amount to a written confession of not doing any real work on your job. Helping me is not worth getting fired!
If the number of hours is confidential info, then let me know what some of the social media Social Media sites that you’ve joined. I’ll list mine below(in no particular order) along with my info on there so you can add me if you like:
Twitter – A place where I can instantly share the most random of funny thoughts with thousands of people?! That’s right up my alley!!!
Facebook – Mainly because it allows me to keep up with friends and family, while plugging this site in a somewhat tasteful manner. Plus, there’s a group dedicated to me!!! You should join it if you haven’t already!
Blip.fm – Allows me to live out my superstar DJ fantasies, even if it doesn’t have all of the music that I’d like to play.
Myspace – As my Facebook time increased, my Myspace time decreased. It’s just a little less tacky over on the Facebook side of town for some reason.
YouTube – I keep my video stuff here, and I also find all kinds of hilarious clips to post while looking around this site.
StumbleUpon – I almost NEVER use this, but I keep hearing that I should…
Technorati – I’d like to increase my ranking on here. I guess if I keep posting interesting stuff, it’ll happen eventually.
Digg – Another one that I haven’t used in what feels like forever. I know it would help to learn more about it, so I’ll write it on my to-do list before my A.D.D. strikes back and makes me forget.
Funny or Die – I have not really used this one as much as I’d like to, but I’m planning on making more of an effort to check it and see what things other like-minded silly people with internet connections and cameras are up to.
Last.fm – More music, but I just joined this site very recently. I don’t even think I’ve finished filling out my profile yet. I have the program hooked up to my iPod, so if I listen to something embarrassing like “Don’t Stop Believing” 10 times in a row, the whole world will now know about it.
If you all know of any other sites that NEED some ListenToLeon in their lives, let me know about that, too. Anywhere a good sense of humor is appreciated, the Leon presence needs to be felt!!!

I think you should join http://Yelp.com. I have used it for a long to to read reviews of local places, but just joined so I could start rating and reviewing myself.
I commend you on being able to juggle so many sites…I can barely handle Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace!
Facebook: I check every couple of hours…it’s reached the addiction stage…LOL…
Twitter: Joined recently…wasn’t too crazy about it at first…like to think of it as a venue for thoughts that I wouldn’t necessarily vocalize on Facebook…
MySpace: My first social network…like you, once I joined Facebook, my MySpace visits become pretty non-existent…still try to keep my account somewhat active, since I have friends/family on it who don’t have Facebook, although, hopefully I can convert them soon-:)Also, is it just me or does MySpace seem to be the meeting place for some of the sketchiest people that exist on this Earth? Needed to vent…too many freaky inbox messages lately…LOL…
Okay I must haven’t been here in months.Cause it didn’t look like this the last time I was on here. But, Marie Claire mag….had an article something like this topic. But it was more on new age addictions.
Facebook: Im ALWAYS on facebook thanks to internet access on my sidekick.I now can harasse the shit out my friends and check my freinds status, change mines, and do extra crap…even when im away from my CPU.okay im probaly on here 95% of the time.I might get on after I finish writing this…lls!
Myspace: I think im only on their for a total of one hour.I mean myspace used to be kool. Now its soo soo.and boring.
Xanga: Now this was my first social site.I think I made like 4 good friends from that site.lol……but its change and not as fun.Its like an older blogger.
But other than that im not on many sites…..I have A.D.D I aint got no time to be doin no profile for every 5 million websites I join.lol……btw…..I heard bout twitter.Plenty of people told me to join…but im like ummm idk. Sounds like myspace&facebook in one.
Here’s my list
Myspace – I don’t go on here as much as I used to. Only reason I still even have a myspace page is because there’s friends there that haven’t converted to facebook. I go on this site maybe once a month.
Facebook – I go on here all the time. I think I’m addicted also but I’ve calmed down on it a lot. I go at least once a day.
Blackplanet – I don’t know if I can count this one anymore. It was my first site that I signed up to and I canceled my account with them about a month or 2 ago.
Bebo – I go on this site even less than I go on myspace. I only have close friends on there so that’s the only reason I haven’t canceled it. I just might do it though since I’m NEVER on there.
Tagged – I joined this one from my yahoo address. I used to check this one everyday but have gone down to about twice a week and sometimes not even that much. I’ve gone down to like 4 times a month LOL.
I’m unplugged 8-) not on any of those..now if it were for business.money related purposes maybe I would be but as it is just don’t see or feel the need…..
Flickr?! But I just metr!
It’s all too much for me, man. Who has that kinda time?! I’m on Facebook but only visit when somebody nudges me for something. I think I have a myspace account, too, but they’ve proly deactivated it due to inactivity. As far as the rest go? I’m just waiting for consolidation and contraction to strike, just like in other industries where there are too many players in the same sandbox. In the end, “There can be only one!” Or a couple big ones.
Bring them all on! The more the merrier. Seriously, facebook and twitter are to die for. :)
