As I’ve probably mentioned on here before, I have been doing pretty well as far as keeping a regular, disciplined workout schedule over the past few months. Although I knew that I was making progress, I had no idea just HOW MUCH progress I had made until this past weekend. I knew that I’d moved up in the weights that I lift, and results have become more visible, but it took me getting on the scale to officially take notice. I have picked up 5 pounds of muscle since last month, mainly thanks to intense, no-nonsense workouts on a regular schedule, as opposed to my usual “when I feel like it/when I have some free time” planning strategy.
As a result, I feel that I must warn the city of DC that I really am going to to be the Black Matthew McConaughey this summer. Don’t be surprised when you see me running up and down Georgia Avenue with no shirt on like it’s Venice Beach, playing ultimate frisbee with other people dogs. There is nowhere in the city to surf, but I will find a way to slide the word “stoked” into everyday conversation regardless, just because. Hell, I might just take up yoga, and do that outside with no shirt on, too.
Oh yeah. It’s that serious! Added muscle, plus the summer sun making me less high-yellow for a few months…Things are looking up for your favorite comedy blogger. I have a right to be stoked, dammit!!!

I agree w/Megan – pictures will be necessary for eye-candy purposes….then we can all be stoked ;-)
PS: remember what comes along w/being “McConaughey-esque”….the lack of the use of deoderant. He’s all natural, baby! (LOL!)
@ Tracey, I’m never giving up deodorant. Besides, Matthew is rich and white, so it’s impossible to have everything in common with him!
