Upon reading that Jose Canseco agreed to take part in a mixed martial arts bout, I instantly had flashback visuals of the somewhat recent celebrity boxing match where former NFL player Vai Sikahema beat the brakes off him in convincing fashion. After a beatdown like that, why would you want to even think about fighting again? Nothing good can come from being famous and getting your ass kicked. Just ask Suge Knight…
I remember back in the day when the group Onyx used to rhyme about all kinds of hardcore criminal stuff on their records. Their credibility took a steep tumble once Sticky Fingaz took part in a celebrity boxing match against a skateboarder and the world learned that he really can’t fight worth a damn. After that, Sticky stayed away from fighting, and started acting. His boy Fredro is pushing 40 and still playing high school kids, so there’s something to be said about learning from situations like this. Jose Canseco should take note.
What’s even crazier is that Jose Canseco will be fighting Hong Man Choi, a 7’2″ South Korean fighter. Jose better hope that this guy is slow and awkward, or else he’s going to end up with a size 22 footprint on his chest! I’m pretty sure that most of the baseball players Canseco snitched on in his book are hoping and praying Choi delivers a thorough and painful beating. Only time will tell…

I wonder what he did with all his book money. This dude is basically getting paid to embarass himself.
