I’ve been watching the girly drama unfold over the past few weeks involving Miss California, the Miss USA Pageant and pagent judge Perez Hilton, which took an interesting twist today. In case you’re unfamiliar with this story because you were busy focusing on actual news, here’s a quick recap:
- Miss California Carrie Prejean is a finalist in the Miss USA competion when she is asked about her opinion on gay marriage. She responded by saying that she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.
- Miss North Carolina wins the pageant, and Perez Hilton says it’s thanks to his gay marriage question, while calling Prejean “a dumb bitch”
- Prejean agrees to become the spokeswoman for an anti-gay marriage group, and the pageant committee considers stripping her of her Miss California crown.
- Today, a site called TheDirty.com exposed racy photos of Prejean wearing nothing but a skimpy pair of pink panties, which could easily cost her the Miss California crown.
Since it looks like this situation won’t just fade away into oblivion, I’m going to share my opinion on the whole damn thing.
First of all, I do not agree with Prejean’s opinion on gay marriage, but I’m not going to fault her for being honest about how she feels. In this day and age of bullshitters, her honest answer was almost refreshing, in an ass-backwards kind of way. Now if they’d asked her to elaborate on why she feels that way, it might have gotten really ugly…but they didn’t…and it got ugly anyway.
Perez Hilton acted like a bitch-ass drama queen for exploiting the situation in the press. There was no need to claim responsibility for costing that girl the crown, or for name-calling. This isn’t the Judge USA pageant, so all the rants after the fact were tacky, unprofessional and unnecessary. Just shut the hell up and vote, like the rest of the judges! Even if Hilton’s point was to bring attention to the cause of gay marriage, there are better ways to do so than resorting to obnoxious gloating. Right now, the cause is running a distant third to Hilton and Prejean, which makes me believe it’s more about attention than anything else.
Third, Prejean really made herself look like an ass by trying to capitalize on the situation and become a spokesperson for the anti-gay marriage movement. Then the photos came out and made me look at her ass. It’s not much ass to look at, but I had to look, for the sake of you readers out there who depend on me to research my subject matter properly. Yeah…That’s why I did it!
Bascally, Prejean is screwed. I expect to see her in Playboy within the next year, once they strip her of her crown. I think the only winner in this whole situation was Perez Hilton, since it kept his buzz going and sent more people to his site. You readers aren’t even winners, because I expected to have more jokes about this situation than I actually did. However, I am typing this as I watch NBA MVP Lebron James do his thing on the court. Therefore, my tolerance for punk ass drama is pretty low right now. Sorry I couldn’t at least try to sound more inspired about this arrogant douchebag saga in California…

I don’t agree with how she worded her response. She was running for Ms. America (the land of tolerance). she should have gave a non-answer like most of them do.
LMAO @ playboy within next year
don’t forget about the part where perez uncovered the fact that the miss california association paid for her breast implants, that is a major part of the story! So essentially, those photos aren’t really representative of her NOW, which IMO would prove her property of the pageant. I’m just saying…
I forgot all about the fake breasts @ sylG! I guess that DOES make her pageant property! Well…At least part of her!
@ CurlyQ, yeah, she apparently didn’t have a prepared strategy to duck that question, so she answered it LOL
Bless her for giving us the term ‘opposite marriage’….da hell?
“Opposite marriage”?! That’s ridiculous LOL
Maybe I wasn’t listening closely enough, but I thought the question was (paraphrased) “Do you think states should have the right to enact similar laws”…which doesn’t really ask how she feels about gay marriage, it asks how she feels about states enacting local laws vs. Federal laws…does anyone have verbiage of the question?
Land of tolerance??? I thought we were the “land of opportunity”.
