BET, you guys have been alright with me this week, so I really hate to have to make fun of your network. An article I wrote was published on your site for the first time ever, and that made me smile. Then, I saw a commercial for Tiny and Toya, which quickly took away that smile, and replaced it with a “What the hell is this?” smirk. I know I’m late with this one, but baby’s mommas are getting reality shows now? Is that what reality TV has become? I mean, I guess it’s better than VH1 leasing reality show hoes from Chicago Larry, but still. I’m dissapointed, people!
Before this starts to sound like an attack, I want to make it clear that I’m not knocking Tiny, because she can sing her ass off, along with the rest of the women from Xscape. I don’t know anything about the Toya lady, so I’m not going to personally clown her, either. It’s just that the commercial that I saw went something like “T.I.’s lady, and Lil’ Wayne’s ex have their own reality show.” I don’t know about the rest of you, but the first thought that ran through my mind was “Why should I give a damn? Who really cares what these two do on a day-to-day basis?”
Then, I remembered that I asked that same question about Keyshia Cole and her family when they first got a reality show, and that was one of BET’s biggest hits of the past few years. I can’t watch it, because I can go just outside and see hoodrats arguing with each other in my neighborhood in the summertime. I don’t need to spend my TV viewing time around more of that, although Keyshia’s breasts almost make the family drama bearable…but that’s neither here nor there.
How many of you plan to watch Tiny and Toya? Are you looking forward to it? Or are you expecting it to be a train wreck?

@ The Killa Cal, the commercials for Meet The Browns do look like some coon sh*t. I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch an episode because the commercials are so irritating.

Personally I will be watching the show, and yea your right that I can see hood rats in the summer time doing the same things that Tiny and Toya do, But for one Tiny was successful way before she met T.I. and is not just a baby momma ,but she is his life they are in a relationship’s and they love each other.Onthe other hand Toya’s he is a little different, because she is Lil Wayne ex wife but since Lil Wayne is one of my favorite rappers I want to see all the shit Lil Wayne went took her through and what kind of girl she is since he talks abut her so much in all his songs ….songs that most of you people don’t know.

Love the show ladies…keep up the good work. Remain positive and continue to care and fend for your families. People can be so mean, evil, and jealous. But God has a plan for everyone regardless of the negativity…this show is out for a reason. These ladies are showing that it aint easy for them either despite their rich men in their lives. I like the show,when I first saw the advertisement I thought what the hell…I quickly learned the show is about personal growth, all ministry isn’t for all people,but for those young people that allow the media to dictate their lives, this is good,if they have critical thinking skills.. As a young black woman, I am so embarassed to see these young women speak so poorly. They represent poor family values, because they only claim to fame is who they have slept with. They are broadcasting and glamourizing their ignorance. They need to be educated on how to articulate themselves. Build on who they are as individuals and stop hanging on T.I. and Waynes’ coat tails. Ghetto fabulous. How can she write when she can’t articulate verbally. Black women need to educate themselves and not seek to capitalize off of poor choices. I hope these women listen to themselves and see how they confirm negative stereotypes about us. Toya has great potential, she’s needs to establish her own identity and polish her speech. Tiny, there is no comment she is the epitome of low class even though she has access to so much. They obvisiously can’t see themselves beyond the materials.

It’s not ghetto… What I really like about your show is how you let women know that they don’t need to base their entire lives around a man and it’s good to have your own identity and pursue your dreams and goals. I would like to say I enjoyed the Tiny and Toya show althought it could of been a little longer. I wish the ladies great success. In response to them being Gold diggers I diagree. Tiny owned her home before getting with TI he moved into her home and Toya lives in a very nice Condo it is not an apartment. Why does it matter where they live at anyway. They are 2 ladies that have been threw things and are trying to move on pass it. Toya take your time move at your own pace. I hope things work out with your book and the football player he is cute. Yes tiny and toya do have very heavy accents, but that has nothing to do with how you use your words, I have an new orleans accent but I know how to speak properly first off, secondly how can toya say she doesnt want to be known as lil wayne baby’s mama but she introduce herself as waynes baby mama or ex-wife every chance she gets.
