DC Carnival Pictures

Upon returning home from the 2009 DC Caribbean Carnival parade, I decided to share some of the pictures I took from the event. That explains why Satan’s peacock is front and center once you get to this entry. Below, I have posted many more sights from the day’s festivities for your viewing pleasure, with captions.

Here you see DC Mayor Adrian Fenty throwing beads to the crowd. Sorry for the awkward angle on this photo. I thought the mayor might have read the entry where I made fun of his fedora, so I was bobbing and weaving just in case he decided to throw something at my head.

More costumes, dancing and other stuff.

Officer Pork Chop was out there protecting and serving. His name isn’t really Officer Pork Chop. He just looks like he’d probably put a hurting on a plate of pork chops smothered in gravy. At least that’s the impression that I got.

The Birdman even made an appearance! Not the Denver Nuggets’ Chris Anderson, and not the “Stuntin’ like my daddy” Birdman, but the ACTUAL Birdman! Like, with a beak!

One of y’all’s uncles was out there gettin’ it on Georgia Avenue.

A friend of mine won the prestigious title of “Miss Jerk Pit” in the Miss Caribbean Metro beauty pageant. I just like making fun of that title, so I’m posting this here even though the photo isn’t all that clear. I wonder if that prize included any free jerk chicken meals. If so, I might have to start being nice to her…

That’s it for the photos. I may edit the videos I took and put them up here later on if you want. Just let me know.

Share this so someone else can laugh too!

    On someone else’s site, I guess…lol

I only took a few photos, and of the ones I took, I only put up those which I could make clever comments about. I do have some video of folks dancing with mud and stuff on them.

@ Miss Jerk Pit, blame “Kayemjaye” above for the jokes. She started it! I actually took that photo not even knowing you were on the truck, then your girl told me. all jokes aside, congratulations on winning that title.

@ Jeff, I’ll try to tonight.

@ Tracy H, you should have been here in DC!!!

When did they start using guard rails for the parade? I mean it’s been a minute since I went. But I definately remeber being drunk, in the parade with no problems, and the only accent I had was caused by being drunk.
