Damn it Marion Barry! I really want to stop making jokes about you, but you just KEEP ON GIVING ME MATERIAL! When are you gonna quit getting in trouble and start acting like a damn 73 year old?! For those unaware, last night Marion Barry was arrested for stalking a woman. As you can probably tell, I have more than a few things to say about this…
Ladies, can you imagine being stalked by a damned 73 year old man? Let alone Marion Barry?! Looking outside and seeing his old ass trying to hide in the bushes, but knowing it’s him thanks to the cloud of crack smoke lingering overhead. What type of shit is that?
I wonder who Barry is going to blame this on. I doubt he’ll be able to say it was biased police or FBI agents like before. Thanks to this incident not being caught on film, we may have missed our chance to hear DC’s Mayor for Life saying “THE BITCH SET ME UP! AGAIN!!!”
I hate to totally vilify Barry because he’s done a lot of good things for underserved people of the DC community that gets little to no press, but until he gets his personal demons under control he’s going to continue being the butt of jokes. Maybe it’s unrealistic to expect an 0ld ass player to change his game in the 9th inning, but in Marion Barry’s case, it’s necessary.
Also, let me take some time out to say RIP to Steve McNair. Regardless of how you feel about him being with his side-piece as opposed to his wife when this happened, he’s still a man, and did not deserve to be shot down in cold blood. The world lost a great football player who by all accounts gave back to his local community. Hate to mess up the vibe from all the Marion Barry jokes, but I needed to address this story as well since I’ve followed McNair’s career since college.

Nothing he does surprises me anymore. Especially since he used to creep with some lady that lived a few houses down from my sister back in the mid-90’s. So stalking a woman doesn’t seem THAT far fetched(to me).
He needs to get his ish together if he truly wants to be taken seriously(anymore) because this is ridiculous.

Poor ole Marion is still a mess. When I lived on Capitol Hill, there were always women around the neighborhood he was trying to get busy with.
There was a time when he was a great city leader, charismatic and caring about people. Then the drugs hit him and it all turned to sh!t.
I saw on the news that this time he was arrested by the Park Police while sitting in his car watching the woman. Creepy. Hanging in his car seems to get him in a load of crap for the last few years.
I feel badly for Christopher - he loses his sane productive mother and is left with this mess as his only parent.

Look man, Marion Barry is a reg person like all of us, he do shit just like ya’ll do shit, and i do shit. it comes with the territory of BEING HUMAN. leave him alone, and realize that he is and will continue to be the best mayor we have ever had. you see these dudes they have had after him?? COMPLETE CORNBALLS. so give him the respect he’s due, and laugh when he gets caught doing something like this and proudly say “thats my crack-smokin, woman chasing mayor” gotta love it. IM OUTTTT!

Yes he is human - but once you are in office - you gotta be better at hiding this kind of crap or risk not being in office anymore (well except if you’re Marion Barry of course).
