My WiFi was acting temperamental again this past weekend, which is why there were no updates. You were forced to look at my silly Frederick Douglass part whenever you made your way over here. Since I forced you to look at that black Poindexter from Revenge of the Nerds looking image for over 48 hours, I shall repay you with the gift of live comedy. If you feel like hearing some Leon stories live and in person, come join me at Indulj on Wednesday night. The details are as follows:
My friend Tashya hosts a comedy open-mic at Indulj every Wednesday night, starting around 9:00. I’ve gone on a few times over there, but I want to try out some real-time jokes on the folks who laugh at my belligerence and random nature on a daily basis, instead the usual, which is a of a roomful of strangers. It should be fun. Plus, it forces me to step my game up, since this is a chance to further cement the Legend of Leon, and further my brilliantly ignorant comedy movement!
Indulj is located at 1208 U ST NW, Washington, DC. It’s right off the U Street African American Civil War Memorial metro station, and right across the street from Ben’s Chili Bowl and Next Door. So if I actually cross the line with my belligerent humor, you can go get a chili dog and call it a night! It starts at 9 and I plan on making it another memorable night, like when the Common Share let me tend bar for an hour and a half before finding a way to fire me from a make-believe job. Remember the motto by which I live my life: W.W.R.J.D., or in other words, What Would Rick James Do? That creed may get me in legal hot water from time to time, but I ALWAYS have fun.
The comedy will be taking place upstairs. Downstairs, there is a live band playing jazz, so you can do your sophisticated player pose thing over there and go back and forth if you really want to. Plus, the bartenders downstairs and upstairs are of the cute variety…in case that’s a selling point to any of you. Whatever the case, bring your stankin’ ass to Indulj this Wednesday and say hello to the Bad Guy(that’s me). Thanks in advance!
