Who Dresses Like A Nazi for Halloween?!

indiana-jones-nazi

This morning, I heard that the ex-girlfriend of someone I consider a friend was walking around DC dressed as a Nazi on Thursday night. This is a person who has been in my house, drank my liquor and made small talk with me on a number of occasions, so I’m feeling some kind of way about the news.

Actually, f*ck “some kind of way.” I’m pretty damn angry right now! I’m glad I wasn’t there. I’d have said something to her that would have been so hurtful she’s have wished she was getting her ass whipped by Indiana Jones like main man in the photo above, instead of getting embarrassed by me at Steve’s Bar Room in front of people.

I mean really. It’s 2009. Almost 2010. Who is culturally dense enough to accidentally dress like a Nazi? Everyone knows what a swastika means, even the simpletons among us. That’s why anyone bold enough to wear a Nazi costume in this day and age is basically saying “F*ck you Jews and N*ggers” in one of the most tasteless ways imaginable. She may as well have dressed up like a Klansman. It would have been a cheaper costume, since all she’d need is some cheap white sheets and some scissors. Then again, I’m sure someone WOULD have stomped a mud hole in her ass and walked it dry like Stone Cold Steve Austin had she done that.

Now, the question becomes: since she just did some racist sh*t, does that mean that behind closed doors, my friend also does racist sh*t? I mean, he was sticking his thing in her for years, so I’m sure the topic had to come up at some point in conversation. I really don’t want to have to throat chop my friend and put his big ass in a sleeper hold. He’s a good dude. I don’t even know if I should tell him or not, because maybe he didn’t know this side of her exists.

Plus, I don’t want to have to kick his ass. Therefore, I’m just going to get this off my chest over here, and only say something if I should happen to run into this chick at a public place and she tries to speak to me. Hopefully, that won’t happen…but if it does, I’ll have another funny story to tell! Maybe I’m still a little upset about the skinhead encounter I had back in the day, but either way, there’s no justification for wearing a Nazi costume in 2009.

Leon, as an enlightened white chick living in the Heart of Dixie and surrounded daily by racist idiots of both the closeted and ‘out’ variety, I may have some different perspective than you do…

I don’t know this person, so I can’t say that she isn’t just a raging racist who did something inexcusable, in which case her ass is begging to be kicked into the next century. But unless she has just naturally has a set of brass cojones the size of regulation NBA basketballs, I find it hard to imagine that she’d intentionally walk around town blatantly declaring herself a racist. In my experience, very few of them are quite so ‘in your face’ about it. Instead, my impression is that she’s probably more like 99% of the racists I’ve encountered here, who are actually generally good people but just as IGNORANT as the day is long, and don’t have a frigging clue that what they’re doing or saying is really insensitive and stupid. Some people just seem to be born without a cultural sensitivity gene or something. I think it’s possible that this person never gave a thought beyond ‘oh, this would be original and different’ without thinking that there’s a REASON no sane person waltzes around dressed as a NAZI (for f*ck’s sake) or that it might be highly offensive to people. I bet you anything that if you had been there and called her on it, she would have been clueless about what the big deal was, and maybe mortified when she figured out the message she was putting across.

My point is…if your friend hasn’t ever given you reason to believe that HE is a racist before now, then I wouldn’t assume anything about HIS character…except maybe his choice in women. She’s obviously not the brightest bulb in the box…

    Just a thought.

I say wait until you see the pictures or get her story before …. (insert violent joke here). I know that sounds kinda lame but like you said its almost 2010, her costume could have been part of routine straight disrespecting nazis, in fact maybe she was the nazi in Indiana Jones getting her ass whoop. The one thing I learned is we can’t enlighten with hate. Because their is some straight ignorance out there. http://hiphopwired.com/14091/student-sent-home-for-wearing-aunt-jemima-costume/

seriously? wtf is the big deal, its a fucking costume? Grow some fucking balls for christ sake.

This, coming from someone who didn’t even have balls enough to leave an email address with his/her comment. Let’s be realistic here, “Dett”.

Just because someone decides to be a Nazi for Halloween does not make them “racist.” It’s freaking Halloween, lighten up! I guess people who dress up as vampires, really suck blood from the living.

    • ListenToLeon 11. Jun, 2010 at 1:41 am #

Will all due respect Marie, fuck that. There are still Neo-Nazi groups in existence. One of these skinhead groups actually came up to me in Russia and called me a nigger at a train station, hoping to pick a fight. So yeah, it’s hard to “lighten up” when stuff like that still happens to people thanks to the ideals held by Nazis. Anyone who thinks because it’s 2010 folks should just be cool about it is either incredibly naive, stupid, or a closet Nazi sympathizer themselves. I wonder which category you fall into… ;)
