Over the years, I have made a lot of jokes at Gary Coleman’s expense. I’ve called the man ashy, laughed at his legendary temper and even put a f*cked-up part in my hair like he wore in his “Diff’rent Strokes” days. With every arrest or assault on Scottie Pippen, I had ammo for my comedic arsenal. Still, my jokes came from a place of love.
I grew up watching Gary Coleman and his hilarious antics on Diff’rent Strokes. I actually wanted to jump in the TV to help him and Dudley kick The Gooch’s ass! Yes, I too wondered what the f*ck Willis was talking ’bout! I even watched that show once it jumped the shark and added the annoying little red-haired child, mainly because Gary was great at what he did.
I hope that Gary can finally be at peace now. He went through a lot in his personal life, which is why I can kind of understand him having a those issues that led to the negative headlines. I am not excusing the violent outbursts. I’m just saying that I felt bad for the man, considering the hand he was dealt living with medical problems and parents who pissed away his money.
