I still can’t believe it’s been a year since Michael Jackson died. I can’t lie, to me, it still kind of feels like losing a friend or relative, although I never met the man. That’s the kind of impact his music has had on me over the years.
But enough of sad shit. Uncle Mike(as I’d call him if he actually were my uncle) wouldn’t want us to be upset. He’d want us to party! I mean, not only was his music awesome; the man was able to make things cool that had no business being cool!
Exhibit A: The glitter suit in the video above. No man on Earth, straight, gay or whatever, should be able to pull off dancing around in a sparkly ensemble under strobe lights. Yet, Mike made it happen.
Exhibit B: The photo from the inside jacket of the Thriller album which inspired my website’s header. The man is lounging in all his jheri-curled glory, wearing a white suit with a tiger cub in his lap. Did you hear what I just said? A MOTHERF*CKING TIGER CUB! What the f*ck do you know about THAT sh*t?!
I’m sorry, but it’s impossible for me to talk about that tiger cub and not curse. I want one. I’d name him “Nipsey.”

I’ve been playing all kinds of Michael Jackson songs on my Blip.fm station today, mostly some of the more underrated yet still unbelievably awesome ones, like this, for example. Or that. Or even this sh*t right ‘chere, which I still use as my alarm every morning. What can I say? I like waking up to happy sh*t!
