Rick Ross > Satan

They say the greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist. If that’s the case, Satan has nothing on Rick Ross! I know for a fact that Ross is a fake-ass gangster with a fake-ass name, yet I somehow still like his music. I think I’ve finally gotten to a point where I no longer care about a rapper’s credibility, and look at mainstream hip-hop as the audio equivalent to WWE wrestling. Whatever the case, this sh*t bangs! I’ve been playing The Albert Anastasia Mixtape to death since it’s release, and I’m looking forward to Officer Rozay’s full album.

Even though he’s faker than the breasts on a Vegas stripper, fat boy can rap. I guess that’s all you need in order to stand out these days.

I tend to agree on the state of hip hop these days – none of it has to be “real” for it to sell.

But I beg to differ on his skills. If you remove the track – it sounds like he’s reading a nursery rhyme/jr.hs. cheer/child’s poem.

Everytime I think about Rick Ross’ success, it seems clear that this generation of hip hoppers don’t give a flying fitted cap about authenticity. Having said that, this joint knocks.

@ CurlyQ, he has a certain charisma about him. It’s more like intangible shit, not so much about actual lyricism. You could put a whole lot of rappers on that same beat & they wouldn’t have been able to pull it off. It actually would be funny to hear the a capella version of this though!

    @ Jason & Jeff, I 100% agree

NWA, anyone, they were pure fiction… people tend to forget LOL I’d wager 90% of what’s said and has been said over the past two decades in hip hop were exagerated exp’s and/or plain dreams on wax LOL…Thats said Rick, is an authentic recording artist and his sh*t cranks!!!!..Janelle isn;t really an Android but I fly to Metroplois every time I listen LLS

@ Phoenix7, LOL @ the Janelle Monae reference. It’s funny, but I read somewhere that none of the members of NWA actually had police records before they made records about crime! Rap has always been somewhat fake, but now it’s 90% made up bullshit! From fake-it-till-you-make-it rappers talking about things they don’t really have in order to someday get them(wealth, hot women, ect) to the ones making up crime careers, it’s flat out ridiculous!

Well everybody is on twitter hyping this man…I guess I’m too conservative and uptight to give this man my money. I don’t know I don’t really like him just because he ooozes coonery in my opinion.
