Michael Cera

Is it me, or does Michael Cera play the same character in every movie? If this dude plays the awkward love interest one more time, I’m going to personally go to his agent’s house and lay the smack down on the first person that answers the door. I really hope it’s not an old lady, or someone who can actually whup me. If so, that would be rather unfortunate.

I can’t front though, I do like most of Michael Cera’s movies, and Arrested Development was one of the most entertaining TV shows of the past decade in my humble opinion. Therefore, as much as I’m clowning Michael Cera for playing some variation of “George Michael” in everything from Superbad to Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, I will probably end up seeing Kick Ass, Part II, I mean Scott Pilgrim vs The World. His slightly goofy, slightly insightful schtick is going to get me to spend more money. I guess that’s why the guy never ventures outside his comfort zone. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, I guess…

I read a great story about Michael Cera in Rolling Stone last night. He is pretty much playing him in every movie. The title of the story was “Nerdchild in the Promised Land.” He is a slightly awkward, quirky and sincere dude in real life that drives a blue, dusty and dented Toyota Corolla that he bought when he was on Arrested Development. He makes those performances look so easy because he is not doing to much acting…lol!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has gotten decent reviews so far. I am definitely checking it out!

I just saw Youth in Revolt over the weekend and loved it. I wish he would play a bad boy since his Francois (in movie) was perfect!

But I do agree, for the most part he does play the same role.

I need to see “Youth In Revolt.” That wispy mustache and aviator shades he has on in the trailer look funny

I’m sorry leon, I am very unimpressed with this dude. I think it’s nice that he can be entertaining playing his weird, awkward self but for all that couldn’t he just have started a blog and did a few youtube videos? Movies cost $13 dollars in NYC so when I go to the movies I need to see some actual acting. I grew up around plenty of awkward white dudes so no need to pay $13 bucks to see guys I went to high school with and lost touch with for a reason.

George Michael looks as though he may go down (lol!) because of driving around stoned. Hey, is this a threat or a promise? It’d be like shutting in most men in a harem! Lol!
