I have a couple of fun announcements to make. However, the process of getting to the point of making announcements has not been particularly fun. I’ve come to realize that I need an intern. An annoying, unattractive intern. One who will keep me focused. Cool, sexy interns need not apply, because that’s just another distraction, and a potentially, a future lawsuit or child support check.
Back to the topic at hand. Melissa from VanityRich.com asked me to be a part of theĀ Daycation: Destination Hawaii event on Labor Day, and I’m excited to be a part of this brainchild of the lovely ladies of Pretty Powerful Events. All you can eat crab feast?! All you can drink?! Hula dancers and people twirling fire?! C’mon man!!! She didn’t even have to sell me on that one! You can check out the details and get tickets here.
The second announcement is that I’ll be performing at Speakeasy DC on September 13th. Speakeasy is a monthly storytelling event where all of the people tell stories based on a certain theme. This month, the theme is The Underdog: stories about beating the odds. Trust me, I have a funny one on deck, just waiting to be unleashed on the crowd. You can check out videos to get a feel for the event here. Also, the details for the September 13 show are available on their website.
So now that I’ve proactively put the word out about some of the things I’ve been up to lately, I feel a little bit better. However, I meant what I said. I’m going to find a way to help some college kid get credits toward their major in exchange for organizational help, as soon as I figure out how. Damn…That’s one more thing to add to the to-do list. Then again, I need to ACTUALLY MAKE a to-do list before I can add stuff to it…

And dang, I was gonna apply but you barred me and my ilk (cool, sexy).
Oh man, that was YOU I spoke to on the train!!! Good sh*t! I forgot that I promised to write about that! LOL
Nice sorta-kinda meeting you! LOL
It was inevitable that our paths crossed on the green line (even though I think you said you don’t normally take it), with you living in Petworth and me going to and fro from Greenbelt. Nice meeting you, too. I guess you didn’t understand that when I was pointing at you I was mouthing “AnonymousNupe.” I didn’t want to say it out loud ’cause, well, then I wouldn’t be anonymous any more, LOL!
