The good people behind Black Dynamite have once again come through and placed something awesome in my inbox. This time, it’s first-look images from the upcoming animated series on Adult Swim. Or [adult swim]. I’m not sure how particular they are about the brackets and lower-case lettering. In any event, here’s the description that came with the images in this entry
The Black Dynamite Animated Series further chronicles the exploits of Black Dynamite and his crew. Executive produced by Carl Jones (The Boondocks, Freaknik: The Musical), the series features the voice talents of Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson, Kym Whitley, Byron Minns, Clifton Powell and JB Smoove.
This sounds awesome to me! Black Dynamite should perfectly fill the void left by The Boondocks, since this is reportedly the last season of the show. The vocal talent they’ve assembled for the show looks hilarious, so I’m definitely looking forward to watching the Black Dynamite Animated Series once it’s on the air.
On a side note, it’s cool that Scott Sanders, the director of Black Dynamite keeps passing along awesome Black Dynamite information to me. It makes me feel like more than just a comedic trash-talker and world renoun watchdog, calling out internet jackassery at every turn. This type of thing gives my site the air of a legitimate media source. Usually, I feel like I’m the blogger equivalent of Peter Parker, taking photos of himself dressed as Spider-Man and trying to sell them to people so he can keep the lights on while he’s fighting crime. When people actually give me content like this, it’s wonderful. That’s like letting Spider-Man do his thing and save the world, instead of forcing him to pose for the camera while kicking Dr. Octopus’ ass like some kind of Facebook loser.
Our heroes deserve better than this.
So once again, I’d like to thank Mr. Sanders for letting me know about these things. I’m pretty sure if I started resorting to the Spider-Man tactics above, I’d end up losing more readers than I’d gain. Plus, I’d look like a bitch. To everyone else, let me know if you’re as excited about the upcoming Black Dynamite Animated Series as I am!
