I see that Twitter is abuzz over the news that an HIV positive man has been cured. I hate to rain on everyone’s parade, or in this case, make them wear condoms, but this is a very early breakthrough. Please hold off on having any unprotected hooker orgy celebrations until a permanent cure is actually found. Even then, I’d get the hookers tested for other variations of sexually transmitted heebie-geebies before diving in, but that’s just me.
I know some of you are thinking: “Leon, you’re no fun. I want to share my love with the World…or with as many filthy dirty skanks as possible. They’ll cure me eventually!”
To that, I say…”Eww” and “No, they will not cure your stupid ass later.” If you think the transplant waiting list is long, just imagine how long the wait list for an AIDS cure would be! They’d find your skeleton laying next to your cell phone covered in cobwebs by the time your number gets called.
I know that this should be a time to rejoice, but I cannot help but to take a “wait and see” approach, and remain guarded. Maybe it’s because I’m Black. A wise man once said “What’s a Black man in America without a healthy sense of paranoia?” While a “healthy sense of paranoia” does not equate to “I’m blaming EVERYTHING on the White man“, it does mean that this is a country where incidents such as the Tuskegee Experiments happened. One which has a long history of opressing and persecuting people. Therefore, I wouldn’t be suprised if some other disease follows AIDS up in a few years, like some kind of f*cked-up sequel. AIDS Strikes Back. AIDS Reloaded. AIDS Hard With A Vengeance. Something…
I know that sounds a little depressing, but I actually am glad to see that this medical breakthrough has taken place. Hopefully, more will come from it, and medical innovation will prove me wrong. Thanks scientists, with your microscopes and goggles and stem cells and all that other sh*t. Your work is appreciated!

AIDS Hard with a Vengeance?! LMAO!! I agree with you but you are a fool!
I agree with you Leon about the wait and see thing because truth is they will have to do test after test and also does anyone know if he had full blown AIDS or just HIV because their is a diffrence and that diffrence could affect the drugs and whom it may ” so called cure”. Also I dont know why people are getting excited he could have something in his gentic makeup that made him seemed “cured” what if you dont have this trait then what? Also the people who need this so called miracle drug the most I bet wont be able to afford it. i.e the poor, african american community etc. Also you know the FDA will make the drug developers jump through all kinds of hoops before its aproved before this drug could become mainstream could be years or decades. I hate to say this but I dont trust the insurance companies or government health care programs to pay for this because they dont cover some transplants unless your about to drop dead that moment and even still they dont cover it and they also dont pay for things that are costly when it could have been prevented and Aids/hiv can be. And with the cost of the clinical trials and it will be in high demand this drug will be a fourtune and also the hiv cocktail is a money maker for drug companies so I dont see them making it affordable for all.
