My mother does not like Glenn Close. It’s not like she’s ever met the woman; Mom simply cannot stand the sight of her. Whenever a Glenn Close film or show comes on TV, my Mom will say “That’s a HARD looking woman! I can’t believe anyone finds her attractive.”
Last weekend, the Harrison Ford movie “Air Force One” came on television. Once I saw that Glenn Close was in it, I took a second look at the screen and realized why my mother finds her appearance so unsettling. Glenn Close looks just like George Washington. I asked Twitter if anyone else has noticed this, and they just left me out in the cold, as if I were crossing the Delaware in the dead of Winter.
Finally, I searched Google, and the results responded, “I cannot tell a lie; At least one other person has noticed this uncanny resemblance.”
To Glenn Close, should you ever happen to read this: I’m sure you’re a really cool person, deep down inside. Please don’t take out your wooden teeth and try to fight me, or attempt to chop down a cherry tree on my house. Just smile, take a deep breath, adjust your powdered wig and keep it moving.
