The photo Charlie Davies took of me in the barber's chair looking like a Puerto Rican Frederick Douglass
Apparently, my barber is a superstar. Kofi, the man pictured above working on my way-too-long-at-the-time hair, seems to be getting quite a bit of celebrity clientele lately. A month ago, I found myself in there while Jesse Jackson Jr. was getting a haircut and holding court. Then yesterday, soccer superstar Charlie Davies of DC United snapped a photo of Kofi working on my wolf-like scalp and posted it on Twitter. I didn’t even realize it until a friend of mine sent me the link hours later.
It’s cool that folks are hearing about how well Kofi cuts hair. He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet in your life. The age old saying is true: a man might cheat on his woman, but he’ll never cheat on a good barber. You step out and get some literal “trim” from a bad barber, and unlike actual adultery, you have to visually wear the shame from your transgressions until your hair grows back. Best-case scenario if it’s not too bad, you can go to the barber you cheated on and ask him to fix your jacked-up cut, but you know he’s gonna talk sh*t the entire time, and rightfully so.
Once again, Kofi at Eddie’s Hair Creations on Florida Ave in Adams-Morgan is the man. I’d post an “after” pic of my haircut, but I don’t want to be a jackass posing for cameraphone photos in the bathroom mirror in a public place. I may get someone to take it for me and update this entry a little later.

LOL with the clever-as-usual wordsmithing. Nothing like great multilevel writing.
LOL at cheating and trim.
Thanks Marty
Leon with the fresh cut and shape up LOL.
It looks good, too! I might have to get a picture taken this evening and post my fresh cut on the site
Too funny! But it is random how a DC United cat was in there too. Guess it be like that sometimes
LOL @ Puerto Rican Frederick Douglass. Sad but true Leon, it was past time, bwahahaha
Yeah, it surprised me too
@ Miss E, there is no need to co-sign my raggly-ass hair situation! LOL
Nice! I’m gonna show this to my cousin. Hopefully next time I take him there he won’t go screaming and balling, lol. I just wish there were more cuties in the waiting room. Lol
I can’t help you with the cuties thing, but your cousin should give Kofi a try.
Lol, Darn! I only like going to the barber shop for the eye candy. I actually took my cousin to Kofi 2 years ago. I really liked the cut, but he was like “eh”. Anyway he’s coming to visit on the 15th for 2wks, So I’ll take him while he’s here, He’s turning 16 and thinks he sooo grown, *eye roll
