Sorry to quote Donald Trump, but I could not resist. What better way to segue into asking you all to nominate me for a couple of Black Weblog Awards? The man is a billionaire with worse hair than a feral alley cat, but even his politcally incorrect faux paus are somewhat entertaining. I won’t make fun of him too much for this, but if he keeps on asking to see President Obama’s birth certificate, I may be forced to dedicate some blog space to clowning The Donald.
Back to the matter at hand: It’s been awhile since I’ve won a Black Weblog Award, so I’m making some changes to the site in order to make the funny UNDENIABLE! UNSTOPPABLE! INDUBITABLE! That’s right! You can-not dubit my sh*t! Nor could you ever hope to!
It’s in this spirit that I must respectfully ask you to nominate http://listentoleon.net in the Best Humor Blog category, and the Best Personal Blog category. I won the humor category in 2006 and 2008, but I’d really like to win a BWA this year as well. I might not have blogged quite as consistently in 2011, but all of the entries have been consistently funny. That’s more than you can say about most sites, period, Black or otherwise.

I take your point, I was setting up a relationship with this vietnamese girl, and all of a sudden, one of her friends, and a girl I know of Laotian descent told me some very racist statements about black people, and why they were proud NOT to date them (ex. black skin is unnattractive, blacks will be nice at first, then sell you (wtf?) talk to black you will be disowned – and many more, many worse) I understand that some parents want their children to stay with their own kind, but one told me her parents would be happy if she married a white guy, and the Laotian girl told me her grandmother told her if she chose to date interracially, make sure he’s white, and make sure he’s a doctor. The laotian (mien) girl went as far as saying that any asian girl that likes black guys must be on crack. This has affected me permanently, because I would have never thought asian girls that were so nice to me could be so racist when i tried to go with an asian girl.
