I’m supporting Community of Hope’s Happy Hour for Hope this Thursday, June 23 from 5-8pm, and it would be nice to see some of you there. Six restaurants in Adams Morgan have agreed to donate a percentage of their sales to Community of Hope, and they are all on the block and a half of 18th Street NW. Can you say “bar-hopping for the babies?”
In case you’re unfamiliar with Community of Hope, they provide a wide range of programs and services to underserved residents of DC and help promote strong families in the community. Remember that adorable little girl whose sippy-cup holder I used to rest my beer?* Well, her mother is very active with Community of Hope, and I’ve seen firsthand the effects of the good things that this organization does.
The participating restaurants are:
- Bukom Cafe(where I’m starting because Harry the bartender is the dude!)
- The Reef
- Madam’s Organ
- Savor
- Sutra Lounge
- Bardia’s New Orleans Cafe
You can find out more details here. So if you were already planning on getting a drink after work on Thursday, why not do it for a good cause? Besides, if you laugh at some of the off-color jokes I make over here, you may want to attend in order to have a good deed under your belt to balance out karma and get your soul right with the Lord. I’m sure he disapproves of some of this stuff!
Seriously though, I hope to see you there!
