I have purposely been avoiding talking about the U.S. debt crisis saga over here. I’m no economist; I’m a humorist. If you want random observations, I’m your guy. Fiscal responsibility, well, let’s just say that there’s a reason I don’t answer phone calls from numbers I do not recognize. The decisions that caused me to be this way, are pretty much the reason why I won’t lecture the country on it’s finances. I know my limitations. However, it seems that everyone else with a functioning mouth seems to be openly voicing their opinions, so I may as well say what’s on my mind. I will do so, with a keen awareness of my limitations.*
It really sucks that we’ve gotten to the point of having our first Black President, and now he’s about to get blamed for messing up America’s credit. Nevermind the fact that the economy has been pretty bad for years now; Nevermind the fact that his administration inherited these problems from his predecessor; Nevermind the fact that certain lawmakers are playing political games with the fate of our nation just to jockey for position in 2012; Some people are going to blame Obama regardless. This is one of the reasons why I could never be President.** If folks tried to back me into a corner, I’d probably come out swinging to the point that it would be clear that America would be scared to give me a second term. That would make me a lame duck, which means I would completely stop giving a f*ck about playing politics. All semblance of f*cks would be held onto. I could have a million f*cks in my pocket, and all you need is half of one to make rent next month, and I’d be like “No sir. You can not have it. Not one single, solitary f*ck. Not even a f*ck crumb. I won’t even give you that. Now get the f*ck out my face.”
I love that this impending doomsday scenario has everybody talking. It’s great to hear folks spew out talking points from cable news as if they formulated these “thoughts” on their own. This morning, I literally listened to two gay Republicans talking politics, one of whom was Black. It took everything in me not to say “You do know that most of the folks in your political party secretly hate you, right? In your case, they hate you twice.”
I sincerely hope that lawmakers are able to get their act together and come up with a solution for the sake of this great nation. If not, then I guess we’re screwed. We’ll all have to mentally prepare ourselves to witness the government hit rock-bottom, doing sh*t like trying to put The Department of Defense in someone’s momma’s name, claiming Mexico on it’s income tax return, & shaking it’s ass for cash in some titty bar for Chinese businessmen.
* Basically: I shall try my best not to talk out the side of my ass about topics I have a limited comprehension of.
** You can see PLENTY of other reasons why I’ll never be President over here.

I have nothing of value to add besides I agree with you. I’m the last person to talk about fiscal responsibility, but what I DO know is these politicians need to get it together. They’re making it about making a point and it’s putting the livelihood of this country at HUGE risk. Oh and the “Blame ERRYTHING on Obama” spiel is getting tired and redundant.
I agree. Too bad DC doesn’t have a Congressman/woman to write!
