People Are Crazy

Michele Bachmann Newsweek Cover

Candidate Crazy Eyes

Warning: This post contains a defense of Michele Bachmann as well as a plea on behalf of Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street. I promise that it will all make sense in the end. It’s not as strange as it sounds…

Now that I got the disclaimer out of the way, let me begin by saying that I don’t blame Michele Bachmann for being mad about the Newsweek cover posted above. If I were going to be on the front of a magazine and they chose to use the most unflattering, crazy-eyed killer looking photo imaginable from the shoot for the cover, I’d be mad too. I mean, I do think Bachmann is kind of crazy, but she actually has a right to be irritated by this. I mean, look at that photo! I feel like I’m being eye-raped by a still image. She looks like Kane with hair in that picture. Putting it on the cover of a major magazine was petty, regardless of your political leanings.

I just realized that I typed the words “kind of crazy” in the preceding paragraph. Is that even possible? Or is that like being “kind of pregnant“? My theory is that there are various levels of crazy. I mean, I know people who do irrational things all the time, but they’re harmless. I also know people who will beat you within an inch of your life for a six pack of Miller Genuine Draft on any given Thursday afternoon. Therefore, I believe my theory stands. I rest my case. My case being my balls, square upon the foreheads of those who dare doubt me!

Speaking of crazy people, there is an actual petition circulating online for Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street to get married. Now, I have no problem whatsoever with gay marriage; what I do have a problem with, is folks putting an ongoing political matter on a children’s educational program. Let the kids be kids! They have plenty of time to form opinions about grown-up issues when they’re old enough to comprehend them.

Besides, it’s more fun to know that Bert & Ernie are gay, without actually knowing. I’d imagine it’s what Clark Kent’s co-workers at the Daily Planet feel like. They probably look at him and think “Really Clark? Glasses and a curl? That’s all the effort you’re gonna give me?! You must think I’m stupid! You can leap tall buildings in a single bound, but can’t come up with a more convincing disguise?! Oh yeah, I know you saved that old lady in the burning house on your lunch hour. You still smell like a motherf*ckin’ forest fire out this b*tch! If you ever used x-ray vision on my girl, I’ll krytonite-slap the sh*t out you!

I’m jumping from topic to topic, but the moral of today’s entry is “People are crazy.” I’m not complaining though, because without said crazy people, the world would not be quite as interesting, and I’d have less stuff to make fun of over here.

Yeah, there’s noone that can look at that pict and not think Newsweek was just being petty. Its funny in a “lets make fun of the republican”/highschool kind of way

Good shit… It’s crazy for there to be a “need” to have it entered into the Sesame St. script…

Yeah, like a show with orange and yellow people and giant taking birds would really need to address grown-up issues…

I feel that it was just an honest picture to choose because that’s how she looks to me everytime I see her on the news. What I am more disturbed by is that people see her crazy angry behind as a viable Presidential candidate…

And time out Leon for the entire Superman co-worker monologue!! You have me hollering!

Yeah, she’s definitely out there. Bachmann is going to end up talking her way right out of the election. Mark my words!

You say that she looks like Kane in that picture. I always thought of her as a real-life image of Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmations. See for yourself.

On one hand, I agree that NW crossed the line with tha pic. On the other hand, it was art imitating life – in other words that lady is as loony as they come.

To see the mainstreaming of this woman – to borrow your superman analogy – makes me think we are under seige by the folks from the bizzaro universe.

The new chant: I want my world back man. lol

Well, unless photoshop was used to give a negative image, I don’t think it’s petty. The picture is a reflection of her rhetoric. I think it’s easier to swallow the crap when ppl say she is pretty, and only show flattering images. Palin, anyone? Her stupidity is tolerated and touted cuz she is attractive? BLAH! An average “jane” would have to have facts, and intelligance. They are allowed to smile, photoshop the crow”s feet, and serve us crazy on a silver platter!

I said all that to say, SHE IS LOONEY! How dare they insult my intelligence by implying she is the answer to POTUS! ~massive eye roll~
