My inner music geek has been smiling all week long. I signed up for Google Music recently, and I quickly fell in love with the service. However, I later I was told that it’s only going to be free for a limited time. That was a tough pill to swallow. It was like meeting the woman of your dreams, but finding out she has a mean coke habit, or a child by Lil’ Wayne. Basically, “utterly disappointed” are the words that best described how that news made me feel.
In the meantime in-between time, I will set up as many awesome playlists as humanly possible before the powers that be attempt to charge me for it. Anything less would be untrue to my cheapskate sensibilities. I love that this process of exploiting free storage space for my tunes has made me rediscover a bunch of hidden gems from my music collection. I have also been hearing really good things about Spotify, so I’ll just keep a record of these playlists I’m working on and re-create them over there if the time comes for me to make that switch. I’ll take a look at Amazon’s music tool as well, to cover my tech geek bases.
Question time: How many of you are using “the cloud” to stream your music collection to you? Also, what service do you use? I want to figure out which is the best, so your input is appreciated. Please don’t make me waste hours unnecessarily scouring the internet for the best place to upload my “Stripper Pole Soundtrack” in I ever need it in a jam.

I use Pandora at work because they’ve blocked Spotify. Love Spotify. But I’m streaming other folks music not my own.
