Thanks to the weather turning ridiculously cold, I am now dealing with a case of hat hair. To those of you who are unfamiliar with hat hair, below is an unofficial definition:
Hat Hair – (n) Hair that has become mashed down, frizzy, or some other variation of f*cked up after the removal of a hat.
As you can see from the visual aid placed above, the whole top and right region of my scalp is laying to the side like a latter-day Nat King Cole. Also evident from the way that my left side appears unaffected, I must have been rocking my skull cap with the Adebisi from OZ gangsta lean. All of these scalp forensic exercises indicate that it’s time for a winter haircut so that I no longer have to deal with this when I all I want to do is be warm.
Am I alone in this, or do other people have to deal with hat hair? I refuse to believe that skullies have a personal vendetta with my head alone. Then again, maybe something I wrote here ran afoul of the leader of a global skull cap conglomerate, and this is his or her twisted form of revenge. Who knows? Who cares? The situation will be rectified once I make a trip to the barber shop & trim down my El DeBarge-ian locks. Take that, skull cap conspirators!

Debargian!!!
Damn right!
Then get thee to the barber, sir.
That doesn’t help me of course, I have to settle for styles that won’t be drastically destroyed or a hood. And hoods severely restrict my peripheral vision, so there’s that minor issue.
I’m going to try to make it to the shop 1st thing in the morning. You are my 20,000th commenter, by the way. You don’t win shit, but you now have bragging rights and you’re a part of ListenToLeon trivia lore!
In between cuts, you can rock a 1970′s doo rag under it. Either the nylon or that sateen joint. Uhm maybe it’s the hat. Perhaps a looser one wouldn’t take the hard S out your curls :)
Hello My name is Christopher Jones and I have been a victim of head hair for some time now. When does the hurting stop? Will I be forced to rush into a bathroom and attempt to reconstruct my hair every time that I put a hat on? Do you or others suffer from this life – altering dilemma? Please know that there are others that understand your struggle. A cure is in sight, just don’t lose hope.
That was outstanding! There is unity in the struggle, my friend.
