Please join me January 24th at Cafe Saint-Ex in Washington DC for an evening of great hip hop and random-ass rants. The event is titled “You Know What Really Grinds My Gears” which is an homage to Peter Griffin from Family Guy. If you’re unfamiliar with the reference, watch this video of Griffin’s nonsensical news rants.
You know what really grinds my gears right now? The fact that embedding is disabled on that clip, so I have to tell you all to travel to YouTube instead of just clicking “play” right here on my site. That’s an extra step, in a world of instant gratification. You’re f*cking up my sh*t, copyright laws!
You guys already know how I get down; hilarity shall ensue on January 24th. DJ Roz of Champion Sounds will curate the sounds, and I’ll handle the hosting duties. There will be a sign-up list for anyone who wants to come onstage and rant for a minute or two. If you decide to go up, you don’t actually have to say “You know what really grinds my gears?” unless you want to. There are no rules, except have fun. As the host of this event, it is my duty to assist this process in any way possible. If anyone happens to get carried away, it is also my duty to hit the “Wrap It Up” button and bring things back to a state of awesome. If that happens to you, it’s nothing personal. It just means you’re talking too got-damned much.
