While hosting the show, I managed to break about 500 dishes while this poor woman was on the mic. This photo is of me trying to save face in the aftermath.
I am proud to announce that You Know What Really Grinds My Gears, my collaboration with DJ Roz of Champion Sounds, was a success. Last Tuesday marked the first open-forum karaoke-style airing of the grievances in the history of..ever. My only fear of hosting what amounted to an open-mic rant session was that there would be a bunch of bitter folks saying things like “All you b*tches ain’t sh*t” and messing up the comedic tone I set with my humorous rants over hip-hop beats. Thankfully, everyone there kept it amusing and light so the night was very fun and laid-back.

DJ Roz. People who celebrate their birthdays all month long grind his gears. Martin Luther King gets one day; YOU GET ONE DAY.
Special thanks to DJ Roz for approaching me a few months back with the idea of working together on an event. Through numerous meetings and brainstorming sessions, it turns out that the simplest idea that the two of us came up with was a good one. Apparently, a lot of folks in DC have sh*t on their minds and want to get it off their respective chests. I’m just glad to provide a forum that may sound negative, but in actuality is cathartic and hilarious. I’ll know pretty soon if we’re doing another one in February, so that announcement will come soon. Below, I’ve placed some pictures from the event, courtesy of Steven Jacobs Photography. I failed to get quality video this time, but if we do this again in February I will try my best to make that happen.

It was a great event! I’ve been telling everyone that I have officially done stand-up. That may or may not be true but I like saying it.
Glad you had fun! Thanks for coming to the event and being an active participant
Was upset with myself for not being able to come that day. Promise to make an appearance to the next event.
The next one will be in March. I’ll let you know as soon as the date is finalized.
